Executive Director, Co-Founder at Stay; For Life/Mental Health Advocate/Suicide Prevention/Loss Survivor
We at Stay; For Life believe it takes all of us working together to prevent suicide. We need people involved in preventing suicide on an individual basis; talking with one another when we feel the need arises, as well as being available to one another to have the difficult and yet crucial conversations. We need schools involved to help the youngest members of our communities understand that big feelings require action, and how to take those actions. We need young adult mentors to encourage the growing generations to be vocal as well as accepting when it comes to mental health challenges. We need businesses and organizations to devote time, energy and financial efforts to help break the stigma surrounding reaching out for mental health help and building the resources available to our workforces. We need our government involved in prioritizing the healthcare system, to ease the burden so many face when trying to access mental healthcare, as well as peace and comfort for those who are helping to provide care to our communities. We need our world to be more kind and accepting of one another; we're all simply trying to survive to see another day - let's make it easier on one another to do so, not harder. We at Stay; For Life are ALL IN with this mission. Are you?

Senior Executive | VP/GM | COO | CFO | Growth Mentality | Strategic Planner | Management & Finance | Culture Builder
Does your organization have a passion for mental health and a creative idea to bring mental health actions and education to your community for Mental Health Action Day on May 16th? If so, we want to hear from you! Tampa Bay 44 is proud to be partnering with MTV for Mental Health Action Day. This #MentalHealthAction Day, MTV is proud to make grant funding available to empower nonprofit partners to produce innovative activations on the 4th annual Mental Health Action Day, a day dedicated to driving our mental health culture from awareness to action. What You Should Know: MTV is offering grants to qualifying 501(c)(3) organizations to activate on Mental Health Action Day: Thursday, May 16th, 2024. Our goal is to support organizations with grants that can bring to life activations that reach young people directly, with a particular focus on those that reach communities lacking access to mental health resources. While no idea is too big or small, the majority of grants will be $2,500- $7,000 with a maximum of $10,000. Activations that engage their local community to learn and practice A.S.K. (Acknowledge, Support, Keep-In-Touch | asktohelp.com), the new ‘stop, drop and roll’ for emotional support developed in partnership with Active Minds, a leading youth-focused mental health non-profit, will be given special consideration as we aim to empower people to know how to respond when their friends or loved ones reach out to them for help. For more about A.S.K. check out the website asktohelp.com and social media toolkit. The deadline for submissions is March 3, 2024. 'Anything that’s human is mentionable, and anything that is mentionable can be more manageable' - Fred Rogers This week marks Mental Health Awareness Week, where we're all invited to come together and focus on getting good health. According to a piece by the Mental Health Foundation and the The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Mental Health costs the UK Economy around £117bn - the equivalent of more than 2/3rds of the NHS budget. This year, we're all invited to try and find #MomentsForMovement in our lives. Being more physically active is known to improve quality of life, wellbeing, and mental health. There are many reasons why people struggle to move enough, so this year the Mental Health Foundation want to help people find moments for movement in their daily lives. With the NHS and charities providing mental health services being overstretched, we think it's time to make a change. We'll be sharing thoughts around the topic this week, so look out for more! #TwinGroup #MentalHealthAwarenessWeek #MentalHealth #MHAWeek24

🗨️ Today is Bell Let’s Talk Day! 🗨️ To all our valued followers, today we unite our voices in a powerful chorus to break the silence around mental health. On this day, each tweet, text, call, and share means more than just a conversation; it's a beacon of hope for the millions who suffer in silence. At UE Enclosures, we're committed to providing a supportive environment where mental health is prioritized and discussed openly. We believe in the strength of community and the transformative power of communication. Let's make every action count. For every use of the hashtag #BellLetsTalk, Bell will donate 5¢ more to Canadian mental health initiatives. This funding will go towards providing critical help to those in need, furthering research, and breaking down the stigmas associated with mental illness. Together, let's create a stigma-free society where mental health is treated with the same urgency and compassion as physical health. It’s time to talk, listen, and change lives. 💬💖 Join us in raising awareness for this vital cause. Share this post, start conversations, and show your support for everyone who battles mental health challenges. #BellLetsTalk #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #YourCompanyCares

Mental Health Awareness Month 2024: Leading the Charge for Open Conversations and Access to Care May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I am happy to see brands and nonprofits stepping up to address the ongoing global mental health crisis. This year, companies like McDonald's and MTV are pushing boundaries to normalize the mental health conversation and advocate for increased funding in professional care and therapy. In a world where healthcare workers, children, and young adults face unprecedented mental health challenges, these efforts are amazing. Brands use their platforms to encourage candid conversations and provide needed resources for everyone. The goal is clear: to break the stigma surrounding mental health issues and ensure people have access to the support they need. Let’s join the movement to foster open dialogue about mental health and support initiatives that make professional care accessible to all. Together, we can create a culture where mental well-being is a priority. https://lnkd.in/gHcP-Vnn #MentalHealthAwarenessMonth #MentalHealth #EndTheStigma #AccessToCare #Wellness #MentalHealthMatters #TherapyForAll

Per John Dick's What We're Seeing: "In observation of Mental Health Awareness Month, we published a comprehensive report on the state of mental health and wellness in America. Unlike most of our reports, this one is free. Read it, share it, print it, copy it, hell, drop thousands of them from an airplane." CivicScience reports don't have bylines, in part because what we do is a team effort. But I'd be remiss if I didn't acknowledge the talents, dedication, and passion of Paige Schlagbaum who made our Mental/Behavioral Health & Wellness report a reality. "Read it, share it, print it, copy it, hell, drop thousands of them from an airplane." Get the link and access the report from John Dick's What We're Seeing message below. #CivicScience #mentalhealth #TakeCareOfYou
