Arab Health 2025: Advancing the Frontiers of Healthcare
Yesterday, I had the privilege of attending Arab Health 2025, the largest gathering of healthcare professionals and industry leaders in the MENA region. The event was a melting pot of innovation, collaboration, and forward-thinking solutions aimed at reshaping the future of healthcare globally.
One of the standout moments for me was attending the thought-provoking talk by Dr. Richard Marshall CBE, CEO of Juvenescence, a company at the forefront of longevity research. Dr Marshall's insights into developing therapies that target aging and enhance healthy human lifespans showcased how cutting-edge science can fundamentally alter our approach to health and well-being.
What made this experience truly memorable was the opportunity to engage with Dr. Marshall after his session. We discussed the potential long-term side effects of PAI-1 therapies—an essential consideration for ensuring the safety and efficacy of these groundbreaking treatments. His perspectives provided valuable clarity and emphasised the importance of ethical, patient-focused research in the longevity space.
Arab Health wasn’t just about talks and discussions; it was a hub for exploring the latest advancements in medical devices, pharmaceuticals, and health technology. Walking through the exhibition floors and interacting with professionals from diverse fields reinforced the sheer scale of innovation driving healthcare today.
Attending such events is a constant reminder of the dynamic nature of the healthcare industry and how collaboration across disciplines can create real impact. I’m thrilled to have been part of this inspiring experience and look forward to contributing my knowledge and enthusiasm to the field as it continues to evolve.

This will be super interesting. The healthcare sector ticks many boxes to qualify for green financing, yet not all are using this opportunity to access funding at better rates and perhaps also funding that would not be available at all otherwise. And how can we prioritize which investment is most "good"?
Wow, what a mind blowing first day at Arab Health! 🤯 There is just so much to see, people to meet and information to absorb.
As a newbie to this mega event, there’s also personal PKB pride seeing Mohammad Al-Ubaydli on stage and hosting panels with influential minds across the region.
This afternoon’s session he moderated solidified so many reasons why we do what we do at PKB. A few takeaways:
- Patient engagement isn't a nice-to-have, it's an underutilised MUST-have. Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa really hammered this home, comparing it to the foundational importance of building hospitals.
- We need to build trust in data sharing. It requires clearly defined patient rights, responsibilities and security protocols for sharing. Success will rely on education.
- Giving patients the control to carry their record is the route to cross border healthcare. It can enable patients to access specialist services, while still maintaining authority and security in a home market.
Private public collaboration is key to a dynamic system which can evolve. It was great to hear Dr. Sanji de Sylva cite examples already happening in the UAE.
Thank you Mohammad Al-Ubaydli, Khalid Al Khalifa, Dr. Khulood Alsayegh, David Watts, Dr. Sanji de Sylva.
It’s refreshing to take time out of the day to day to get a view on the global big picture. Looking forward to day two!
