Nearly 30 percent of U.S. coal-fired power plants are projected to retire by 2035 as states transition to cleaner energy sources. The U.S. Department of Energy is researching the feasibility of converting the nation’s retiring coal plants to nuclear power plants by leveraging the existing workforce and some of the infrastructure in these energy communities. This coal-to-nuclear transition could preserve hundreds of jobs that would otherwise be lost and lead to the creation of new jobs, economic opportunities, and overall improved health of communities most-impacted by fossil fuel pollution. Utah ⛰️⛰️ needs this. ⚡️⚡️ #energytransition

Make or break? I presented “aviation as an end user” at World Nuclear Association recently, discussing the supply chain need of it for making #eFuels which need a lot more #decarbonisedelectricity for less then €20/mhw. The US are one of the countries supporting this kind of decarbonised electricity. There are still many negative perceptions about nuclear. Where do you stand? Is it a make or break situation with nuclear? ⚡️ What other alternatives do we have? And The US just signed another bill to add more nuclear power: https://lnkd.in/eXVQKdxF We added the need to our trends in 2023 and have been doing our due diligence meeting academics, business developers, insurers, nuclear waste experts since then to scout new sources of energy. If we die-die cannot extend coal power plants even if they are retrofitted for co-firing, we die-die have to think of alternatives for gas baseload plants wan 😅 Fret not, coal-to-nuclear transition is already a thing globally and has shown positive proven results in terms of GHG reduction, energy reliability, job security, etc. But if rakyat die-die dowan nuclear power, we need to rethink our strategy in managing demand lah. This includes among others work-from-home empowerment, sell your office lol, don’t la go too aggressive on EV, voluntary load shedding mechanism, mandate BEI/ MS1525 for new buildings, etc. Regardless, I personally think that coal-to-nuclear is really our future. Hoping to still be alive to see it materialise but then again, our Prophet Muhammad PBUH has already pesan that if kiamat is near, we die-die have to plant tree wan 😅 Anas Ibn Malik reported that the Prophet said "If the Final Hour comes while you have a shoot of a plant in your hands and it is possible to plant it before the Hour comes, you should plant it." Mode: pening nak kena ada banyak gas

When people say they give 110%, they don’t mean they give 110% of what they’re capable of. That’s impossible. What they mean is that they give 110% of what it’s safe for them to give. And you can’t run a nuclear reactor at 110% of what is safe 100% of the time.
