I have been trying to post more on LinkedIn and trying to work on how I post as well, language, vocabulary, with or without images or emojis. But the goal is the same, to become better so that I can better serve those who are reentering society after prison and to make life better for everyone. I become better by working with other like-minded people who are also working towards the goal of a better tomorrow for EVERYONE. Seeking New Connections & Partnerships As we work towards creating a more inclusive and supportive society, I am focused on forging new connections and partnerships that can help us better serve justice-impacted individuals reentering society after incarceration. The journey back to community life is often filled with challenges—access to employment, housing, education, and mental health support are just a few of the many hurdles that returning citizens face. It’s clear that no single organization can tackle these issues alone. Collaboration is key. I am eager to connect with professionals, organizations, and advocates who share a commitment to supporting successful reentry. Whether you’re involved in workforce development, social services, mental health, legal aid, or any other area that touches the lives of returning citizens, let’s explore how we can work together to make a real impact. Together, we can create pathways to opportunity, reduce recidivism, and contribute to safer, more vibrant communities. This was the case for Laura, a WorkSource customer who recently earned her bachelor’s degree in social services but was still struggling to find employment due to her history of substance abuse disorder, even though she’d been in recovery for several years. A new housing and training center in Ohio’s Appalachian region will provide apartments, job support, behavioral health services and a teaching kitchen to young people who are aging out of foster care – part of The Appalachian Children Coalition to provide resources for some of Ohio’s underserved communities. Our client wanted to revolutionise their approach to adult social care, prioritising a "people first" philosophy. We were proud to partner with them in developing and implementing a comprehensive program to achieve this goal. Here's a snapshot of what we achieved: - Co-Designed Strategy: Over 1,000 voices from the community, staff, and partners directly shaped a new 4-year strategic plan - Data-Driven Transformation: Through in-depth reviews, we assessed current service delivery against evolving needs to ensure recommendations and suggestions were future-proof. - Delivery for Change: We provided comprehensive support throughout the implementation process, including governance structure development, commissioning strategies, operational improvements, and building strong partnerships. The outcome? A shared vision for adult social care, strong foundations for change, and a market primed for future needs.
