🧠 This Men's Health Week, let's bring attention to men's mental health challenges. 👀 According to Mental Health America, low testosterone can lead to depression and stress, especially in older men, and substance abuse rates are high among veterans and LGBTQ+ individuals. 🗣️ Social norms often prevent men from seeking help, but support can make a significant difference. 🌟 Prioritize mental well-being with resources like Compeer. 💙💚 #MensHealthWeek #MensHealthMonth #SupportMen #Compeer #CheckOnYourFriends

🌟 DAWN (Delivering Advocacy & Wellness for Needs): Championing Mental Health Support for ALL 🌟 Societal expectations and gender roles often make men less likely to speak up or seek help for mental health issues, but we must change the narrative. 💬 Clinical Psychologist Mark de la Rey recently highlighted on VOC Breakfast how harmful gender stereotypes are—not just for women, but for men too. We often forget that men can be just as affected by the pressure to appear "strong" or "emotionally resilient." These expectations lead to many #undiagnosed mental health struggles. It’s time to break the silence and encourage men to speak out. DAWN stands firmly in support of this change, advocating for accessible, stigma-free mental health support for all, regardless of #gender. Men’s mental health is just as important. Let’s continue #advocating for open dialogue, support, and healing. ✨ Listen here: https://lnkd.in/g2_AvPEZ #MentalHealthForAll #BreakTheStigma #MenMatter #SupportAndHeal #TreatYourTrauma

#Pride month is a time to celebrate the rich diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community. It’s a period to reflect on the journey toward equality and recognise the ongoing challenges faced by many. Being part of the LGBTQIA+ community means belonging to a group that understands the importance of support, acceptance, and visibility. For so long, many individuals were unable to openly express their true selves, and the sense of community has provided a vital space for connection and understanding. While significant progress has been made, we must acknowledge that LGBTQIA+ individuals still face numerous mental health challenges. According to Mind, LGBTQIA+ people are more likely to experience mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and disordered eating. They also face issues like low self-esteem, stress, and suicidal feelings. Throughout this month, we will be addressing some of the more nuanced mental health challenges faced by some of the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as outlining the importance of having a deep understanding of these challenges in the provision of mental health care and support. https://lnkd.in/dqGW8u8j #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA #MentalHealthAwareness

🧠Spend more time focusing on the things you can control rather than the things you can't! 🔎You cannot always control other's opinions about you, meet others' needs, or fix past mistakes. 💜However, you can control your attitude, your decisions, and the way you treat others each day. 💭By focusing on the things you can control and what you can accomplish each day you will be able to reframe negative thoughts about oneself and reduce rumination. 📝Try making a list of the things you can control and putting it on your mirror! . . . #Anxiety #Rumination #Controllables #Uncontrollables #emotionalhealth #therapyworkshop #therapyworks #psychologytoday #talktherapy #telehealthcare #californiatherapy #californiacounseling #militaryfamilylife #therapistlove #psychotherapy #firstrespondertherapy #mentalhealthdaythis #lgbtqtherapy #LosAngelesTherapy #SanJoseTherapy #SanFranciscoTherapy #VeteranTherapy #MarriageAndFamilyTherapy #militarykidstrong #ptsdtherapy #policefamily

The LGBTQIA+ community faces disproportionate mental health challenges, including anxiety, depression, and gender dysphoria, which are exacerbated by pervasive violence and discrimination within and outside the community. To address these concerns, accessible and affirming mental health services, such as therapy and gender-affirming care, must be prioritized and tailored to the unique needs of queer individuals. Furthermore, tackling violence within the community demands a strategy that avoids perpetuating stigma and harm. Mental health practitioners working with LGBTQIA+ individuals must recognize their critical role in promoting healing and safety through ongoing training, self-reflection, trauma-informed care, and active allyship, ultimately fostering a more resilient and healthy community. #PreventGBVF #RESPECT

Are you aware that our mental well-being is influenced by a mosaic of influences? ⠀ These extend beyond the individual, reaching into the domains of family, community, and broader structural elements. ⠀ Similar to how pillars support a foundation, certain factors enhance our resilience and happiness, while others contribute to difficulties such as #disorders, psychosocial disabilities, #distress, impaired functioning, or an increased risk of self-harm. ⠀ And do you realize why it's important to closely examine these influential factors? ⠀ Investigating them is crucial for nurturing holistic well-being. It aids in preventing challenges, enhancing resilience, creating supportive communities, pushing for systemic change, and fostering #empathy. ⠀ This approach is integral to our shared pursuit of a more compassionate and empathetic world.
