Our Downtown Dallas, Inc. Homeless Outreach team does heroic work every day connecting our neighbors experiencing homelessness to resources that help get them off the streets, into housing, and connected with critical support services. One of our most effective programs is what we call Homeward Bound, a shining example of the "diversion" strategy to quickly rehouse people. DDI funds one-way bus tickets for people to reconnect them with friends or family in other cities and towns who are willing to take them in. It is compassionate and tremendously cost-effective, a fraction of the cost of an average shelter stay. 3moI love seeing the DDI Outreach and Field Ops teams 𝙘𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙞𝙣𝙪𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙫𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙖𝙗𝙡𝙚 𝙞𝙢𝙥𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙨 in Downtown Dallas. The true impact of their tireless efforts extends far beyond what we see, and they are the backbone of DDI and Downtown Dallas. 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻, 𝘀𝗮𝗳𝗲, and 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴 are the guiding principles for this top-notch group of professionals! Keep up the outstanding work!
