Last Friday, we attended the National Parenting Education Network's conference for parenting educators. @NPEN is an American network run by parenting educators for parenting educators, and it was wonderful to hear so many different presentations. The keynote speaker was @bonnieharrisparenting and it was so great to see (albeit virtually) Bonnie again. All of us at The Parent Team have been fortunate to have done Bonnie's buttons training when she visited London in what now feels like a whole different lifetime! In her keynote she spoke about the work she is doing with parents of Integrity and Harmony children in a presentation titled Parent Education: It's all about the parent because the kids are fine. One of the things she said was that "If the parents' expectations are off, then the child is off." We talk about expectations a lot at The Parent Team ... because having realistic expectations for your children based on who they are, their stage of development and their unique temperament means that parents can understand their children better, and in doing so have more compassion. What is also important is that parents keep expectations realistic - that doesn't mean selling your child short, and it doesn't mean having pipe dream expectations. When parents' expectations are too high, and unrealistic, the child will struggle to achieve them, causing frustration, upset and more. If the expectations are too low, the child will be bored, and equally frustrated. The trick is to find the Goldilocks expectations ... the just right ones that are achievable and clear, expectations that will stretch your child but not crush them. Knowing your child is the first step. Want to know more? Get in touch. We've got some spaces free before schools start up again after the break. Email us at hello@theparent.team to set up a time. #parentingeducation #parentsUK #SWLondonFamilies #parentcoachinguk #mums #mumsanddads #dadsuk #unrealisticexpectations

Parenting in today’s fast-paced, technology-driven world can be tough and challenging. Queen’s Valley School, Dwarka, invited Dr. Sneh Kapoor to lead a workshop on Positive Parenting for the parents of the incoming nursery batch. Beginning with a discussion on the challenges of modern-day parenting, the session walked parents through the numerous tangible and intangible ways in which parenting practices influence the lives of children. Parents deliberated on various aspects of modern-day parenting, including the role of technology and balancing priorities in today’s fast-paced world. Participants were introduced to the principles of positive parenting, its benefits, and what steps they could follow to incorporate it into their daily life. The workshop was especially crucial for the parents of young girls starting school as they navigate an increasingly challenging social world, and equip them with the knowledge and strategies to build a nurturing environment for their growth. The workshop concluded with an engaging Q&A, allowing parents to voice their concerns and gain practical insights. At Mann Neeti, we remain committed to fostering such impactful conversations for the well-being of families and children. #PositiveParenting #ChildDevelopment #MannNeeti #MentalHealth

AKK Baby Understanding Children's Attachment to Transitional Objects 🧸 Have you ever noticed how some children form strong attachments to certain objects, such as blankets or stuffed animals, from a young age? This is a common and completely normal part of child development. Let's explore why this happens and what it means for a child's growth. 👶 #TransitionalObjects Transitional objects, also known as security objects, are items that children form a strong emotional attachment to. They can provide comfort, familiarity, and a sense of security during times of stress or change. #ReasonsForAttachment There are several reasons why children may form attachments to transitional objects: 🛌 Comfort: The softness and texture of blankets or stuffed animals can provide a sense of comfort and security. 🔄 Familiarity: Transitional objects can provide stability and consistency in a child's life as they navigate new experiences. 🚼 Independence: Having a security object can help children develop a sense of independence and self-soothing skills. 🧘♂️ Emotional Regulation: Transitional objects can help children cope with anxiety, fear, or sadness by providing an outlet for emotional expression. 🎭 Imagination and Play: Stuffed animals and other toys can serve as companions for imaginative play, fostering creativity and social skills. 🤗 Attachment: Children may view their transitional objects as friends or companions, forming strong emotional bonds. #HealthyDevelopment It's important to note that the use of transitional objects is a normal and healthy part of child development. It can help children cope with stress, develop independence, and foster emotional regulation. #WhenToWorry However, if a child becomes overly dependent on a particular object to the point where it interferes with their daily life or social interactions, it may be worth consulting with a pediatrician or child development specialist for guidance. #Conclusion In conclusion, understanding the reasons behind children's attachment to transitional objects can provide valuable insights into their emotional and social development. As parents, caregivers, and educators, we can support and nurture this process by providing a safe and nurturing environment for children to explore and grow. Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences with me. #ChildDevelopment #TransitionalObjects #SecurityObjects #Comfort #Familiarity #Independence #EmotionalRegulation #Imagination #Attachment #Parenting #Education Ningbo AKK BABY CO.,LTD Email: alice.tong@akkbaby.com Whatsapp/Wechat/Phone: 86 139 574 29763 Professional soft toys and baby textile supplier with OEKO-TEX certificate

NURTURING INDEPENDENCE: EMPOWERING TODDLERS AND PRETEENS. As our children grow, one of the greatest gifts we can give them is the opportunity to cultivate independence. Fostering independence not only builds confidence and resilience but also equips our toddlers and preteens with essential life skills that will serve them well into adulthood. Here's why encouraging independence is so important: 1️ Boosts Confidence: When children have the opportunity to do things for themselves, whether it's dressing themselves, pouring their own cereal, or solving a problem independently, it boosts their self-esteem and confidence in their abilities. 2️ Develops Life Skills: Independence is more than just doing things on their own; it's about learning essential life skills like decision-making, problem-solving, and self-care. By encouraging independence, we're helping our children develop the skills they need to thrive in the world. 3️ Fosters Responsibility: Giving children age-appropriate tasks and responsibilities helps instill a sense of accountability and responsibility. Whether it's feeding the family pet, tidying up their toys, or completing homework independently, these tasks teach children the importance of contributing to their family and community. 4️ Prepares for Adulthood: As children grow into preteens and adolescents, fostering independence becomes even more crucial. By gradually increasing their autonomy and decision-making responsibilities, we're preparing them for the challenges and responsibilities of adulthood. 5️ Strengthens Parent-Child Bond: Encouraging independence doesn't mean we're pushing our children away; rather, it strengthens the bond between parent and child. When children feel supported and empowered to make their own choices, it deepens the connection and trust between parent and child. Let's embrace our roles as guides and facilitators, empowering our children to spread their wings and soar. Together, let's nurture independence in our toddlers and preteens, setting them on a path toward a bright and self-reliant future. #EncouragingIndependence #ParentingJourney #EmpoweringChildren #LifeSkills #GrowingTogether #motherininsrael
