US sports giant Fanatics acquires top Italian football club merchandiser. Fanatics has captured the majority of the sports merchandise market all over the US by holding deals with leagues such as National Basketball Association (NBA), National Football League (NFL), Major League Baseball (MLB), National Hockey League (NHL), and MLS National Sales Center, as well as some NCAA fan apparel, collectibles, and jerseys. Fanatics has acquired an Italian sports merchandise company called Epi for an undisclosed amount that wasn’t announced and will now rebrand the Milan-based company as Fanatics in Italy. Fanatics has also been growing interest from teams and leagues abroad, tapping into the North American market with the popularity of football or soccer in the US and Formula 1 growing interest. The growth from different countries has grown a lot from what they expected, like in Europe and Asia, it has been fast-growing in areas for their businesses in recent years. The revenue for Fanatics in 2023 was approximately $8 million.
