RMAirSet new product offer solution that will be produced in our new smart factory in Hungary. The EU institutions have reached a compromise on the new policy proposal covering fluorinated greenhouse gases like SF6. SF6 is the most potent F-gas, in fact the most potent GHG of all, and has a global warming potential (GWP) that is 24,300 times higher than CO2. Among the F-gases, sulfur hexafluoride (SF6) stands out as the most potent GHG, with a global warming potential (GWP) 24,300 times higher than CO2. I’m proud that at Schneider Electric, we’ve moved beyond F-gases. We’ve innovated beyond SF6 with replacement technology that is already available and proven. Rather than using SF6 or an alternative F-gas, we’re using pure air and vacuum technology for insulating and breaking. SF6-free MV switchgear is a superior choice not only for the environment, but also for operational safety, which is always our first priority, where we are never willing to compromise. #sustainability #innovation #schneiderelectric #lifeison

Have you ever noticed those metal boxes on street corners that keep a low profile among the bushes? 🌳 Those are kiosks containing various electrical equipment for #MediumVoltage and #LowVoltage systems, powering our homes, stores, schools, hospitals, and more. 🔋 Inside these kiosks is another metal box that often takes up most of the space. It's called a #RingMainUnit or #RMU. This #MV gas-insulated (#GIS) switchgear controls the flow of electricity in the power grid. ⚡️ Historically, engineers have filled RMUs with sulfur hexafluoride (#SF6) gas for several compelling reasons, such as its high dielectric strength, excellent arc-quenching performance, thermal stability, and so on. However, there's now a critical reason to ⚠️STOP⚠️ using it: ❗️1 kg of SF6 = 23 500 kg of CO2❗️ SF6 is classified as one of the most potent greenhouse gas by the Kyoto Protocol. This is why Schneider Electric has invested significantly over the past decades in innovating and introducing #PureAir technology to replace SF6 while maintaining safety for users and the environment. 🍃 RM AirSeT, designed to replace its predecessor, the RM6, is going to be produced in our brand new smart plant in Dunavecse, Hungary. Recently, we marked an opening of new solar plant and electrical charging stations in our office premises. 💡 Our new solar plant has a 50kW solar energy system and it will help our office to reduce our annual electricity consumption to 50 000 kWh. That can be compared to saving 32% of electricity and avoiding of 3650 kg of CO₂ emissions annually and as well as supply energy to electric car chargers. As for electric car charging stations, we now have additionally 14 pcs Wallbox Terra AC 22 kW and one more 90 kW DC fast-charging station to accommodate the growing demand for electric vehicles charging for our car fleet. As we all know world is facing significant challenges related to environmental protection and climate change. As a responsible global organization, we are committed to reducing the negative impact of our activities on the environment. Last week, we had the extraordinary pleasure of meeting with our partner in the Czech Republic - EV Solutions s.r.o. 🙂 We visited several implementations with our chargers, the EV Solutions booth at the Auqatherm Prague 2024 fair in Prague, and their headquarter🔋 We discussed plans for the development of our cooperation, market trends, the specifics of the Czech market, and especially the consequences of the planned introduction of the European Parliament and Council regulation on the development of alternative fuels infrastructure (AFIR), which is expected to be a groundbreaking impulse for the expansion of charging infrastructure in the European Union, including the Czech Republic🚗💨 Together, we determined which activities (including developmental activities on the part of Enelion) we will jointly undertake to seize this opportunity.
