[ACCA Journey] I’m officially an ACCA Affiliate! I used to have high school teachers and classmates tell me that ACCA was not made for ‘us’ because I was not a science stream student and didn’t take Additional Mathematics (Addmaths). Accepting that, I was initially leaning towards pursuing diploma. However, my mind changed when I met my SPM account tutor, Mr. Ridzman. He saw my potential and encouraged me to take ACCA, even though I was in denial about my abilities. Since I didn’t take Addmaths during SPM, my scholarship options were very limited. Thankfully, I discovered Yayasan Peneraju and was selected to be one of the scholars for the CAT-ACCA program at Sunway TES CAE. Fast forward, I was on a streak of straight passing my ACCA papers until I met SBL. Failing it twice in a row was a tough blow, and I found myself questioning what went wrong. Here are the three key takeaways from my ACCA studies: 1. Discipline: Failing SBL twice taught me the importance of discipline. Plan your time wisely. Balance your studies, gaming, and social activities, and stick to your schedule. 2. Embrace Challenges: Don’t be afraid to take tests, even if you fear failure. These tests help you identify your weaknesses and prepare you better for the real exams. 3. Know Your Learning Style: Understanding how you learn best is crucial. For me, drawing and visualizing my notes worked wonders. For SBR, I used mind maps to remember the standards. For ATX, I stuck sticky notes on the wall for every new fact I learned. I’m immensely grateful to everyone who supported me throughout this journey. I’m excited for the next chapter, which is exploring my career opportunities. #ACCAAffiliate #ACCAJourney #SunwayTES #YayasanPeneraju
