"Elizabeth Clarkson is one of those people that you can put into any situation - with clients or internal teams - and she is able to center a group, drive towards a common goal and walk away with new friends. As a senior member of our Professional Development team she uses her extensive educational experience to strategically support and guide schools on their curriculum journey. Whether it is the latest Adam Grant podcast or an article, she is the epitome of a lifelong learner. Thank you, Elizabeth, for the past 5 years and all you have taught us!" - Kelby Zenor
"I think you need to develop strength of character, because learning isn't always easy". I love this quote from the founder of my company, and it's one of the reasons I joined Strive to Learn a year ago. I didn't even realize they had been voted "Best in Orange County" for tutoring for so many years! It makes sense to me now, especially as a college counselor with STL and following this same growth mindset with my students. Take a listen to this podcast from our founder, Josefine Borrmann about our Empathy-Led Tutoring and you'll understand more of what makes our company special!

🎙️ Exciting Announcement! 🎙️
I had the pleasure of hosting York Region District School Board teacher, Jordan Rappaport, on our latest episode of the Shifts Happen podcast. Jordan shared some great insights about his own journey as an educator and the shifts he has made throughout his career. Here are three key takeaways from our conversation:
1️⃣ Embrace the discomfort of change: Jordan emphasized the importance of not becoming complacent in our teaching practice. By stepping out of our comfort zones and being open to change, we can continue to grow and improve as educators.
2️⃣ Small adjustments lead to big transformations: Making small adjustments in our practice can be the catalyst for significant improvement. Jordan discussed how he gradually incorporated new strategies, such as weekly number talks, and saw the positive impact they had on student learning over time.
3️⃣ Shifts in identity: Jordan's decision to shift from teaching intermediate grades to grade four was met with some skepticism. However, he emphasized the need to challenge the labels that others may place on us and instead focus on what is best for our students. Embracing a new role can lead to personal growth and expanded perspectives.
I hope you find these takeaways as inspiring and thought-provoking as I did. If you'd like to hear more about Jordan's journey and the shifts he has experienced in education, be sure to listen to the full episode at: https://lnkd.in/gasQXy_R
Thank you, Jordan, for sharing your wisdom!

Of course you are. That's what we do.
Why? Good question.
There are many answers so take your pick from this bunch:
- fear of student failure
- your students don't seem interested, motivated or willing
- exam pressure
-league table pressure
- parental pressure
- unrealistic expectations from students and/or admin
- you've had a few lessons that have bombed
Did I miss any?
You can change this feeling. You. But if you can't do it alone, that's okay, I got you.
