Today I went to my neighborhood farm to visit with my pups (I know, I’m beyond fortunate) and when I took out my wallet to pay for farm raised eggs, I was told “no, you don’t ever pay here.” Here’s the thing, my politics and spiritual beliefs are very different from the owners and they are the most kind and loving people. I volunteer often to support them especially when our heavy Florida rains and storms impact their infrastructure. I value community, hard work and small farms - offering help to them matters to me. Why is that important? Because what you truly value, you sacrifice for AND kindness is the most important survival skill. Don’t let media hate and anger prevent you from living your own values…values that make a life worth living.

For those who may not be aware, "Slavery was abolished in the British Empire nearly two centuries ago on Aug. 1, 1834. In 2021, Canadian MPs in the House of Commons unanimously voted to designate Aug. 1 as Emancipation Day across the country."
