Sorghum is an ancient grain that is widely grown and consumed around the world, but also has a lengthy history in the US. Sorghum has been grown on Kansas farms since about 1895, and today, Kansas ranks as the number one grain sorghum producing state in the nation. One of the best qualities of sorghum is its efficient use of water and ability to withstand Kansas’ hot summer days. “With over half of total U.S. sorghum production, Kansas is the Sorghum State and Kansas sorghum producers are among the very best in the world at raising the crop because they’ve been perfecting their practice for generations,” says Adam York, Kansas Grain Sorghum CEO. Learn more about the history of sorghum in Kansas here. https://lnkd.in/gzjQAXzs Every year, Nu Life Market sources sorghum grain directly from farmers close to our mill in western Kansas. In 2021, the average distance of field to mill was 50 miles! Nu Life Market’s traceable supply chain means supporting Kansas farmers, ensuring a small environmental footprint, and consistent, high quality grain for our customers.

[per acre] for soybeans are now getting all the way up to 50 to 70 bu. [per acre] in those wet holes.” https://buff.ly/3DI484d
