What agricultural policies do people want? ICYMI: New paper in Food Policy: 'Citizens’ perceptions of agricultural policy goals—evidence from Switzerland' in Food Policy led by Nadja El Benni with Jeanine Ammann, J. Irek & G. Mack We find that all agricultural policy goals are considered important, with increasing animal welfare being the most important goal for the Swiss population. There are differences in the assessment of individual agricultural policy goals between the language regions, suggesting the existence of cultural differences. https://lnkd.in/e3dKc7G9

According to livestock farmer R.C. Hunt, “When you reach 70 years of age in your life, you’ve gone through a tremendous evolution. You’ve watched your industry develop, grow, and mature. You understand the key for it is to have a continuation.” As Congress reauthorizes the Farm Bill, R.C. is advocating to protect climate-smart agricultural funding. This North Carolina native sees the urgent need for these investments, especially with this spring's oppressive heat and dry conditions.
