Alex Hormozi is talking here about trailblazers and vision. (If you have a clear vision, don't let the uninspired tell you you're doing it wrong.) This reminds me of genre preferences. I like certain genre things that most people won't like. I've had that feeling of doubt when I watch something and really enjoy it only to see the majority of people tell me that I'm wrong. Here's a case in point. The best film that I saw last year was 2017's SMALL TOWN CRIME, a Western Noir starring John Hawkes. I think myself and three other people saw it. It was gritty. It was brutal. It was brilliant. Listening to other people talk about the film was instructional: it was too bleak, it was too dark, there were no A-listers in the cast (other than Octavia Spencer in a brief supporting role). This is exactly the kind of story that I like, something a little raw, a little off-the-beaten-path. John Hawkes is searingly good in this film, and it starred an always magnificent Robert Forster before he passed in 2019. There were things in this film that I just adore. I kind of wish that millions of others see what I saw. I'm kind of happy that they don't. If they made this film just for me, a passion project for fans of the genre, I am content. You'll never get a franchise out of any of these films, but I have them as glorious one-offs in my library. tl-dr: have faith in yourself, in your instincts. Don't be afraid to be a trailblazer, whether it's in your career or your passions. I'm John the Wordsmith, and I love me a good Noir Thriller. #storytelling

#questionforgroup Could YOU do any better to refute our Peace Proposal? Question from Jazz for Peace: Why EXACTLY can't “BOTH the Israeli and Palestine common people vote either FOR or AGAINST this NEW proposal where BOTH SIDES choose a cease fire with ALL FUNDS allocated for war efforts to be shared amongst outstanding causes to benefit ordinary people"? hashtag #READITFORYOURSELF here: https://lnkd.in/egdwUrPj along w/interview and Frequently Asked Questions HERE: https://lnkd.in/e3Nh_25j “By bringing Israeli, Palestinian and American Jazz musicians together ( https://lnkd.in/epUfZNKH )Rick DellaRatta and Jazz for Peace have used the transcendent quality of music to promote a message of peace and unity......I want to congratulate Rick and Jazz for Peace on everything they have accomplished...as they continue this concert series….” ~ Barack Obama ANSWER: "The common people" does sound like something Friedrich Engels or Karl Marx would say. The promoted concept seems to be of the ideology representing “the will of the people”. This is a communist concept. Knowing that communists societies even promote themselves as functional democracies. This seems to include this same rhetoric. Dear Friends, unless YOU can do any better (PLEASE feel free to try!), don't you think it's time we come together as a species and force the war profiteers to allow the will of 8.4 billion people just like you who know better by implementing this Peace proposal and ending this spectacularly unnecessary Genocide so we can concentrate more on helping people like this poor woman below?

Applying knowledge effectively is more challenging when we lack foundational understanding and specific information. Wisdom and knowledge can be gathered from a variety of sources. I believe it's less efficient to learn basic principles through trial and error when we could instead learn from those who have already faced these challenges, found solutions, and paid the price. When I read books, it's as if I'm engaged in a conversation on topics like finance, investments, business, or philosophy. Listening to talks and podcasts feels like sitting on the couch with a successful business person. And when I have the opportunity to consult a mentor, I make it a point to ask the difficult questions that can potentially save me the costs—either in time or money—associated with a trial-and-error approach. While we do gain experience through mistakes, it often comes at a price. #entrepreneurship #business #mindset #courage

This actually happens to me all the time 😄 Not during running, but during my Walking Meditations in the wood. Sheep approach me as I am standing still, and start gathering all around, inches from my body. And when I start walking, they follow me. As their "shepherdess" 😎 And I firmly believe this is because I have an altered state of consciousness during those meditations. Animals know. They feel. That the energy is different. 🐼 🐾 This again shows me what we are capable of, once we stop cluttering our minds with busy thoughts, and go back to that mindlessness-state. Back to Nature. Back to Humans and Animals as co-living, fellow creatures, in a Garden of Eden. Exactly those altered states of consciousness is what I believe is needed for people to make headway, be it in private, or in business. The way we were, when we came into this life. ------ What do you think? How could deep meditations / altered states of consciousness be beneficial in your own life? 🙂 🤗 🌻 ------------------------ www.themetacognitian.com

"Treat others better than they treat you? Isn't that just being a doormat?" I hear you! In a world of hustle and competition, prioritizing kindness can feel counterintuitive. But hear me out: treating others well, regardless of their behavior, isn't about turning into a pushover. It's a strategic choice with powerful benefits: 1. Positive Ripple Effect: Kindness is contagious. By choosing compassion, you inspire others to do the same. This creates a ripple effect of positivity that can transform your team, your network, and even your entire industry. 2. Unwavering Integrity: Holding to your values, even when faced with negativity, builds an unshakeable foundation for your personal brand. People respect those who stand firm in their principles, regardless of circumstances. 3. Disarming Defensiveness: Responding to negativity with kindness disarms hostility and opens the door for genuine connection. This can lead to unexpected collaborations, conflict resolution, and even personal growth opportunities. 4. Mental Strength: Choosing kindness in the face of negativity is an act of strength, not weakness. It takes courage and perspective to break the cycle of negativity and rise above petty differences. 5. Personal Fulfillment: Treating others well, regardless of their behavior, fills a deep need for connection and meaning. It fosters a sense of purpose and satisfaction that transcends professional success. Remember, treating others well doesn't mean tolerating abuse or disrespect. Set healthy boundaries and don't be afraid to walk away from toxic situations. But within those boundaries, choose kindness. You might just be surprised at the positive impact it has on your career, your relationships, and yourself. So, the next time someone throws negativity your way, remember: be the wave that washes it clean. #positivitywins #leadership #professionaldevelopment #kindnessmatters #personalbranding Feel free to share your thoughts and experiences in the comments!

Treat people better than you treat yourself is a phrase that suggests that you should show kindness, compassion, and generosity to others, even if you don’t feel the same way about yourself. It implies that you should not let your own insecurities, doubts, or fears prevent you from being a good person to others. Some possible reasons to follow this phrase are: It can help you improve your self-esteem and confidence, as you see the positive impact you have on others. It can help you build meaningful relationships and connections, as you earn the trust and respect of others. It can help you create a more peaceful and harmonious world, as you reduce conflict and suffering. It can help you grow as a person, as you learn from others and challenge yourself to be better. However, this phrase does not mean that you should neglect or harm yourself, or let others take advantage of you. You should still treat yourself with respect and care, and set healthy boundaries with others. You should also recognize your own strengths and achievements, and celebrate your uniqueness. Treating people better than you treat yourself is not a way to escape from your own problems, but a way to enrich your life and the lives of others.
