NTIA has just released "Best Management Practices (BMP) and Mitigation Measures" to assist grant recipients in avoiding, minimizing, and mitigating environmental impacts in planning and designing broadband projects. The guide can be used in conjunction with NTIA’s Permitting and Environmental Information Application to identify BMPs and mitigation measures to address environmental factors that can slow NEPA reviews and permitting. It is available on the BroadbandUSA Permitting page!

Check out this new guide from the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) on best management practices (BMPs) and mitigation measures to help avoid or minimize potential environmental impacts. The guide covers general BMPs applicable to all broadband projects, as well as practices specific to wired, wireless, and deployable technologies. It addresses a range of resource areas including wildlife, wetlands, cultural resources, and more.
