Reinforcing its commitment to Central Alabama, Orlando Health has donated $25,000 to the Baptist Health Foundation’s New Generation Nurses Fund. Contributions to the fund are matched dollar-per-dollar by the Baptist Health Foundation and the Baptist Health System, bringing the total gift to $75,000. The funds will be used to support the Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing at Samford University. A scholarship will be awarded to a student each year in the nursing school who has financial need and intends to practice nursing in the greater Birmingham area post-graduation.

This unprecedented gift will cover tuition for all current and future medical students, starting immediately. The donation aims to alleviate financial burdens for aspiring doctors, particularly benefiting students from underserved communities in one of New York's poorest areas.

We are thrilled to announce that the HCA Healthcare Foundation has awarded a $52,000 grant to Columbia State Community College. The grant will provide funding in 2025 that supports 26 students in completing the Certified Clinical Medical Assistant program for a cost to each student of $99. “We are proud to support Columbia State Community College and provide opportunities for students to pursue healthcare careers,” said Mitch Edgeworth, president of the HCA Healthcare TriStar Division. "Our academic partners are vital to providing a talented healthcare workforce that will deliver compassionate, high-quality care for our community. The funding for the grant is part of HCA Healthcare Foundation’s Middle Tennessee Fund, which supports organizations that provide services in health and well-being, basic needs, primary care, education and the arts. In 2024, the HCA Healthcare Foundation, through the Middle Tennessee Fund, awarded over $6.7 million in grants to 204 nonprofit agencies across Middle Tennessee, supporting more than 4.2 million community members.
