I was excited to start my own business back in 2017, feeling like financial freedom was just around the corner. However, it was just the beginning of the struggle ahead. It took me 2 months to get my first customer, and I was overjoyed to celebrate that new customer because once you get one, many more follow and sure enough, they did. I never regretted my decision not to look for another job after being laid off from my oil engineer position. To be honest, I enjoy being an oil engineer for two reasons: the travel and the money. I did get both, but working in the oil field left me feeling miserable and with no life other than work. Now, I earn twice as much as I did in my engineering career, which I never would have believed. With the freedom I have, I was able to spend a whole month in Singapore and Thailand last April 2024. Who can do that while stuck in a corporate job? Sure, it takes hard work to build your own business you might need to grind 80 hours a week but you’re building your own dream, not someone else’s. After a decade of #iCenter visits in Kuala Lumpur (without counting the other ones in Florence and Houston!), I still believe that #people are at the centre of our workplace. So, in the last few days, word got out that there's gonna be a recruitment drive happening in Ritz Carlton Kuala Lumpur and that it is for QELNG (QatarEnergy LNG) Since the information was only from whatsapp and facebook post, I got various information from various sources including those who has connections in QE. I was told that this is legit and you should be able to bring your CV and possibly do a walk-in interview. The duration was from 27 - 30th September 2024. However, today, I was made aware that numerous people got denied and was told that there is no walk-in interview. Only shortlisted candidates will be doing the interview. I went to Ritz Carlton and was told the same thing. I think this got exploded today as some of the candidates took leave and even traveled from other states. If there is anyone here from QatarEnergy LNG or possibly the recruiter agency themselves who can clear this up, please comment.
