I am delighted to announce the publication of our latest paper, titled "Steering Innovation toward Sustainable Electrochromic Displays: A Prospective Life Cycle Assessment Study". This publication is the result of a collaborative effort between the CyVi Group at the Institut des Sciences Moléculaires - ISM (université de Bordeaux, CNRS, Bordeaux INP) and Group 1 at the Institut de Chimie de la Matiere Condensee de Bordeaux, ICMCB, CNRS, Univ. de Bordeaux, Bordeaux INP.
Building on insights from a previously published LCA, which identified silver as an environmental hotspot in electrochromic displays used in anticounterfeiting and shock detection electronic devices, this article explores various silver-free achitectures of electrochromic displays.
Among the first prospective LCA studies that assesses emerging technologies at different stages of technology maturity, including conceptual design. This approach leads to significant economization of time and resources, as it enables the assessment of the environmental viability of proposed solutions without the need for extensive experimental testing.
My deepest thanks to all co-authos of this work, namely, Daye Lee, Romain Futsch, Edis Glogic, Aline Rougier, and, of course, Guido Sonnemann.
