#INTERNSHIP RECAP Hello #connections, During my industrial training, I gained two crucial insights for the petrochemical industry that I believe are invaluable. 1. Steam Networking: I had the opportunity to learn from a process engineer about steam networking, encompassing steam generation, distribution, condensate recovery, and pressure management. Steam networking is vital in petrochemical plants because it ensures efficient energy utilization, optimizes process performance, and enhances overall plant safety. Understanding steam networking is fundamental since steam is a primary energy carrier in many petrochemical processes, playing a critical role in heating, driving turbines, and facilitating chemical reactions. 2. Steam Turbine Operations: I also attended training on steam turbines, specifically the double extraction and condensing steam turbine used in our plant. I was fortunate to witness the turbine firsthand, especially during a shutdown period when it was opened for maintenance due to a problem. This rare experience allowed me to see the turbine's interior and understand how it generates energy using superheated steam. The training emphasized safety practices to maintain the turbine's condition. Additionally, I learned about the gearbox that reduces the turbine's RPM to synchronize with Tenaga Nasional Berhad’s grid. These experiences were incredibly valuable as they provided me with hands-on knowledge of steam networking and turbine operations, which are not only essential for efficient plant operations but also rare opportunities for many. I am grateful for this exposure and excited to apply this knowledge in my future career. #PetrochemicalIndustry #InternshipExperience #SteamNetworking #SteamTurbine #IndustrialTraining
