By mid-2024, we will fully electrify two of our R&D centers in Bavans and Seloncourt, France, through two services contracts with Schneider Electric! Facilities heating and distribution systems will be retrofitted, employing state-of-the-art technologies. This will help the Bavans site save an estimated 2.6 GWh of natural gas consumption and the Seloncourt one 540 MWh per year. The two projects are expected to achieve respectively 85% and 100% reduction in CO2 emissions, accelerating FORVIA’s objective to reach Net Zero emissions across all three scopes by 2045. “Many other sites will follow to reach net-zero emission in scopes 1 and 2 as early as 2025,” said Elisabeth Delval, Group Sustainability Vice President at #FORVIA.
Bravo Nicolas and many thanks. In France electricity carbon footprint is very low. The main scope 1&2 challenge is to eliminate fossil fuels from facilities. With these two projects Nicolas, you pioneered the Electrification as a Service. You are inspiring other sites already! Hope many will follow your exemple in France and everywhere we are still using fossil fuels.
