After conducting a comprehensive baseline study on improved cookstoves in Zambia, my team and I shared key insights at our stakeholders engagement workshop. The session shed light on crucial findings that will shape the Clean Cooking Strategy and Action Plan (CCSAP) under the leadership of the Ministry of Energy. The vision of CCSAP aims to boost access to modern cooking solutions by fostering a dynamic, market-driven clean cooking sector that optimizes energy consumption, ultimately enhancing energy security and socio-economic development. While the strategy encompasses various cleaner cooking technologies and fuels, our recent engagement focused on improved cookstoves for charcoal and firewood, supported by the USAID Alternative to Charcoal Project.
