A lot of people still view digital marketing as solely performance-based. While performance marketing gives quick results, brand building creates loyalty, which is long-term and indefinitely better for sales as well. However, sometimes it's a tug of war between the creative and business teams. Ankit Banga, CBO, FCB/SIX was one of the panelists at the afaqs! DIGIES 2024 conference and spoke on the topic 'Has performance marketing overtaken brand building?' Sharing his thoughts on the subject, Ankit stated that marketers need to have a healthy mix of brand building and performance marketing, depending upon the lifecycle of the brand and the category it belongs to.
