It's #NursesWeek. We've got some fun facts about nurses you'll want to know...and some unfun facts you really ought to know. Wondering what you can do to support nurses? Call or email your congressperson and tell them you support the FAAN Act—a bill that seeks to provide grants to fund nurse education and ease nurse shortages. #FCBCURE #CUREculture #CUREfortheordinary #nationalnursesweek

Nurse appreciation is the focus of National Nurses Week, which begins May 6. Be sure to plan your Nurses Week celebrations now so you can adequately thank the fabulous nurses you know or employ! Nurses remain the most trusted profession, with 78% of U.S. adults currently believing nurses have high honesty and ethical standards, according to Gallup’s 2023 Honesty and Ethics poll. In addition to being trusted, nurses are universally respected due to their deep knowledge, kindness, and overall care for people. Anyone who has needed healthcare in any capacity is likely to underscore that nurses are truly the heartbeat of medicine. https://lnkd.in/gMG63Mbg #thankanurse #nurseappreciation #nationalnursesweek #giftcertificate #appreciationgifts #nurserecognition #thankyounurses

For nurses to be taken seriously, we have to take ourselves seriously. Recently, a facility decided to apply for a new nurse-driven program. There's an application process, it's supposed to increase nurse satisfaction, etc, whatever. There is a coloring competition. 🎨 I'm not kidding. Instead of promoting nurses in media, nurses authoring peer-reviewed publications, or nurses speaking at conferences, they promote a coloring page. But hey, winning unit gets a catered lunch. Who will take us seriously if that's what we think nurses want to do in order to promote their profession? Nurses are some of the brightest, most intelligent, capable, and intuitive people I know. It's time to elevate not just the nursing profession but the way we view ourselves. #nurse #expert #ernurse #emergencynurse #emergencydepartment #nursedinmedia #criticalcarenurse #nursesonlinkedin

The nursing shortage is a critical issue facing the healthcare industry, and some believe that one solution is to attract more young people to the profession. Proponents of this approach argue that younger nurses are often more tech-savvy and adaptable, and they can bring fresh perspectives to the field. However, others worry that young nurses may not be mature enough to handle the emotional toll of the job. What do you think? Is healthcare ready to embrace more young nurses? #nursing #healthcare #workforce
