It's not a walk in the park.
You have to be firm, determined and not afraid of the sun or hard work.
There's no denying that the construction industry is built on hard work. My time on the construction site taught me the importance of perseverance, dedication, and commitment to achieving our goals.

We are pouring another project in the heavyweight corridor in Carson. This one was a rail siding that was given back to the owner of the property. For this particular project, we are a subcontractor handling the demolition, subgrade treatment, grading and concrete work. We are working on the main portion under a permit pulled by the prime while we are pulling a separate permit for the approach. We had to stop the cement treatment back at the right of way as the city standard calls for CAB under the work, though CTB is such a better subgrade material. I have lost this argument before with these inspectors so I just do what they ask. Age and 30 plus years of applying common sense with city projects has taught me arguing gets you no where.
This is a drive around for an industrial building so they don’t have to enter and exit through the same gate. This will greatly increase the usefulness of the space for the tenant and we are excited to compete this for them. It has been a long time coming having to go through the railroad, then city planning and finally the permitting process. Some of these projects can take years to even get off the ground.
We ended up hauling multiple loads of material (like 90 plus) from the site to get to the the needed elevations. Apparently several buildings had been demolished and deposited here over the years. We also ended up pouring things by hand rather than a laser screed in one shot as the narrow site, particularly with all the manholes for the water storage, made multiple trucks backing up repeatedly a sketchy proposition. As it was we had to reset a manhole struck by a concrete truck anyway.
Things have turned out great and the finished product looks fantastic thus far. We are waiting to install the approach next week as we need the site to cure completely. We have to wait for the break results before moving forward with anything. Thank you to our amazing crews and subs as well as the primes we work for on these sites. We really have a great time completing these projects and whether we are working directly for thebowenr or another contractor, our people give it their A game everytime.
