The good thing about acoustical booths: If you bang your head against the wall in frustration, they are usually padded. A padded cell. Sounds like a great place to commute to! Booths have their place. Good acoustical fundamentals in the workplace are critical. Avoid trendy things. FOCUS (yes I said it) on creating a comfortable environment where people can work effectively. This mouse trap has already been invented.

Dapper Goes Deutsch 🇩🇪 January is slowly but surely coming to an end; However, we’re only at the start of our Q1, and our theme for this quarter is “Dapper Goes Deutsch”. 🎯 At Dapper, we set ourselves an ambitious goal for each quarter. These goals, all linked to a specific theme, relate to our work, our processes and our personal wellbeing! 🧠 This quarter, we decided to focus on efficiency: increasing our levels of creativity and productivity. 🎉 To make things more fun, we will combine our hard work with some German traditions, including Saur Kraut mit Bratwurst, Deutsche BBQs, and hopefully a spring-edition Oktoberfest! Dapper and German efficiency fits perfectly, or as the Germans would say: “Das passt wie die Faust aufs Auge”. In the picture below, you can see our German-inspired office decoration! #30daysoftruth Day 23: Authenticity. Wobbly wood. Working remotely today at a beautiful shared working space surrounded by beams and wood crafted furniture. Next best thing to working in a forest (too cold). I've had a really productive morning of writing a new training brief, feeling very comfy and cosy which has allowed my thoughts to flow easily. The grainy, gnarled wooden desk makes my laptop wobble a bit as I type, but makes me feel more grounded as I enjoy the nobbly, imperfect surface. I guess it is the authenticity I love. Natural materials that aren't pretending to be anything other than what they are. Being real, authentic version of ourselves should be easy right? But life is complicated, and we have to re-learn/un-learn so much to be courageous enough to remain true to our core being. We're surrounded by influences, pressures, adverts, better looking versions of everything. The trick is to stay true to our own grain of wood, our own beautiful imperfections and be authentic. As Oscar Wilde said 'Be yourself, everyone else is taken'.
