Very good analysis about revenue trouble at Coursera. One thing highlighted is how important industry partners like #google are vs #university. As a power creator of 40 courses on #coursera, I can say they need to identify a mitigation strategy to use industry partners like Pragmatic AI Labs vs only university. The University incentives, project management, and processes are INCOMPATIBLE for rapid course creation that meet the demands of industry. #coursera if you are listening, would LOVE to continue to produce at the pace of industry through #pragmaticailabs. #ArdentShares Here's great news from Coursera (NYSE: COUR) on AI Appreciation Day! The leading online learning platform has announced new initiatives to help empower individuals and institutions with essential GenAI skills. These initiatives include new GenAI-focused content and credentials, upgrades to the Professional Certificate portfolio, enhancements to Coursera Coach, and expansion of the GenAI Academy. Over the past few weeks, I took part in an unique educational journey that was unknown to me: a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC), the lernOS KI MOOC #KIMOOC focused on Generative AI. This course served as a practical test for the new #lernOS AI guide's relevance in my professional setting.   The guide, the MOOC's foundation, is part of a community-led, open-source framework for social learning called lernOS. It's similar to the Working Out Loud method (#WOL). The guides usually span 12 weeks, with weekly katas (exercises) guiding a lernOS circle through the learning process. However, the lernOS KI MOOC was compressed to 5 weeks with a weekly live event for participants to share their experiences. This was done to facilitate conversations on experiences and learnings from the MOOC at the upcoming lernOS conference in early July 2024. This meant that a learning circle had to tackle multiple katas at once.   My learning partner Jan Hutter, who I had previously engaged in peer learning with, participated in this MOOC as well. We formed a peer-learning "circle"/combo doing the katas separately and meeting weekly to reflect about what we've learned, about the content, about MOOC and social learning.   The live events brought a nice dynamic to the learning experience. They offered some fresh insights into #GenAI technologies, articles, and applications, and also served as an additional environment for participants to share their experience and learning in their katas.   I found the guide's content valuable although most of it was familiar to me as I'm using GenAI tools in my daily routine for quite a while now. Nevertheless, I think the learning guide is an excellent starting point for newcomers to both the social learning and GenAI fields.   The MOOC's social learning approach and live sessions were very valuable. This experience made us think about how we could encourage peer or group learning on highly specific topics in our organisation e.g. in our communities of practice.
