As someone who works for a US-based company but grew up in India, this time of year always feels a little extra meaningful. Thanksgiving isn’t a festival I knew much about growing up, but over the years, it’s become something I’ve really come to appreciate. It’s not just about the food (though that’s definitely a big part 🤤), but about pausing to be thankful for everything and everyone in your life. It reminds me of Lohri, a festival back home where we gather around a bonfire with loved ones, celebrate the harvest, and express gratitude for life’s blessings. The similarities between the two festivals are hard to miss—and honestly, they make me love them both even more. For me, these two celebrations have become moments to reflect on everything I have to be thankful for—both personally and at work. Thanksgiving connects me to the culture I work in, while Lohri keeps me rooted in my own. Together, they remind me to appreciate the big and small blessings in life. This year, I’m feeling especially grateful for: - My family, who are my biggest source of strength - My team, who make work exciting and rewarding - The opportunities I’ve had to learn, grow, and connect across cultures. Lohri and Thanksgiving may come from different parts of the world, but for me, they share the same beautiful reminder: Stop. Look around. Be thankful for the people, moments, and experiences that make life special. What are you feeling thankful for this year? #Gratitude #Thanksgiving #Lohri #Blessings #Reflection

New Year's traditions vary greatly across cultures and countries. Some interesting ones are : Europe: 1. Spain and Portugal: Eating 12 grapes at midnight, one for each stroke of the clock, is believed to bring good luck. 2. Germany: Melted metal is poured into cold water to predict the coming year's fortunes. 3. Scotland: The tradition of "first-footing" involves the first person to enter a home after midnight, usually bearing gifts. 4. Russia: Taking a dip in icy waters is a popular tradition, believed to purify and strengthen the spirit. Asia: 1. Japan: Visiting shrines and temples to pray for good luck, health, and happiness. 2. Thailand: Pouring water on friends and family as a symbol of cleansing and renewal. 3. China: Giving red envelopes filled with money to children and loved ones, symbolizing good luck and prosperity. 4. India: Exchanging gifts, wearing new clothes, and worshiping deities like Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. Americas: 1. United States: Watching the ball drop in Times Square, singing "Auld Lang Syne," and making New Year's resolutions. 2. Brazil: Jumping waves at the beach on New Year's Day, believed to bring good luck. 3. Mexico: Eating 12 grapes, like in Spain, and wearing yellow underwear for good luck. Africa: 1. South Africa: Braai (barbecue) parties are a popular way to celebrate the New Year. 2. Ghana: Celebrating with music, dance, and traditional foods like fufu and banku. Happy New Year! Best of Luck! and Luck favours the brave and the prepared!

Christmas Eve has always been my favourite night of the year, and in Poland, it’s celebrated with a beautiful tradition that’s all about gratitude and connection. When the first star appears in the sky, families gather to share heartfelt wishes with one another while breaking and sharing 𝘰𝘱𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘬 (Christmas wafers). Each person takes a moment to tell others why they’re grateful for them this year and what they wish for them in the year ahead. This tradition has always been magical to me, but this year, it feels even more meaningful. 2024 brought unexpected challenges, including losing a job I thought I’d always have. But through it all, I’ve learned how gratitude can transform tough times into moments of growth and clarity. It reminds us of the people who lift us up, the lessons we’ve learned, and the hope that keeps us moving forward. This Christmas, I want to share that spirit of gratitude with you: 👉 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿? 𝗔𝗻𝗱 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱? Let’s celebrate the season by reflecting on the wins we’ve had, big or small, and sharing inspiration for a stronger year ahead. 🎄 Wesołych Świąt! Merry Christmas to all! 🎄 #Gratitude #PolishTraditions #ChristmasReflections #CareerGrowth #Resilience #Connection #NewBeginnings #64of100 #100DayChallenge

--- 🎅 What Santa Claus Teaches Us About Leadership – Desi Edition 🎅 #HoHoHo As we celebrate the holiday season, I can’t help but think of Santa Claus—our unofficial global CEO of Happiness Inc. But what if Santa operated desi style? Here’s what professionals can learn from him: 1️⃣ Consistency is Key: Whether it’s delivering gifts or gajar ka halwa on time, Santa knows the value of punctuality. Deliver on your promises (or risk dadi’s wrath!). 2️⃣ Empowering the Team: Santa has elves; we have cousins, neighbors, and random uncles pitching in at weddings. Great teamwork, same chaos. 3️⃣ Adaptability: From chimney climbs to navigating Indian traffic in a rickshaw, Santa keeps up. Innovation is survival—especially when there’s no parking! 4️⃣ Spreading Joy: Santa gives presents; we bring sweets, smiles, and unsolicited life advice. Both leave a lasting impression. Let’s bring Santa’s cheerful, jugaadu spirit to work and life as we wrap up the year. 🎄 What desi Santa moment would you add?
