On this day, we pause to remember the lives lost and the extraordinary bravery shown by our nation's first responders during the tragic events of September 11th, 2001. Firefighters, EMS personnel, police officers, and countless others ran toward danger, embodying courage and selflessness in the face of unimaginable challenges. Today, we honor their sacrifice. #NeverForget

There is never any justification for reckless homicide. The recent shooting of an airman in his own home highlights the importance of verifying the identity of individuals claiming to be police officers. It's not enough for someone to simply identify themselves as an officer; their identity must be verified and their station made aware of their presence. It's concerning that the captains of these police officers seem to believe their officers are in the right when unexpectedly knocking on someone's door. This tragedy emphasizes the need for greater caution and verification in police interactions. Rather than having police officers running and controlling our states to "Protect & Defend," retired and disabled veteran civilians may be better suited for the job. Many of them appear to be more level-headed than police officers, SWAT teams, and even some active-duty military personnel. By prioritizing caution and verification in police interactions, we can help to prevent senseless and reckless deaths from piling up in state after state.

This morning, as I sipped my coffee before heading to the office, my close friend David Jones shared a post that, despite its original intent, stirred a profound reaction within me. HONOUR, COURAGE, TRUST - etched on a Special Response Team coin. Known to those in the know, these words transcend mere metal. For the unacquainted, SRTs are elite units in law enforcement, swiftly handling high-risk situations. These words signify profound beliefs, morals, and duty to those who stand behind them, measuring individuals actively seeking injustice, protecting the innocent from this world’s evils. Reflecting on the indispensable pillars of character that shape our personal and professional journey: 🛡️ Honour: In the absence of honour, the bedrock of integrity crumbles, responsibility falters, and ethical conduct becomes a distant ideal. Upholding honour ensures our actions align with principled values, fostering trust and respect. 🦁 Courage: Without courage, we navigate a path of avoidance, sidestepping challenges and forgoing the opportunity to embrace risks. True courage propels us to confront adversity, stand up for what’s right, and catalyse meaningful change, fuelling personal and collective growth. 🤝 Trust: Trust forms the linchpin of relationships. When trust is absent, connections erode, and the pillars of openness, confidence, and reliability crumble. Cultivating trust is foundational for building robust, collaborative networks and fostering an environment of shared success. Embodying these core values transforms a person into an indomitable force, loyal, driven, just unstoppable. Their sheer drive and devotion to success set them apart. A true warrior, a lion in their pursuits, they provide not just for themselves but for those around them. No challenge is too great, and no one can stand in their way. Committed to honour, courage, and trust propels them to outperform, forging a path of unparalleled achievement. In every sense, they are the embodiment of resilience, strength, and the unwavering spirit of Man, Woman, Husband, Wife, Father, Mother on a mission. In my tactical career I’ve had the opportunity to meet both military and law enforcement agencies large and small. I’ve met famous units that are well known, and those that operate in the shadows… They all have logos. But I think the one below might be the best. Transylvania County Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT). TCSO SRT’s domain is a beautiful section of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. Transylvania County has bucolic scenery, but an Interstate cuts through. That brings crime unfortunately, necessitating their SRT. Busch PROtective USA is proud to help protect the men and women of TCSO! Have a great weekend! #police #lawenforcement #specialoperations #helmets #tactical #protectwhatmatters #logo #logodesign

The ongoing investigation into the Maine shooting by a reservist has shed light on critical gaps in mental healthcare access for reservists. Colonel Mark Ochoa, command surgeon for the U.S. Army Reserve Command, highlighted limitations in care compared to full-time soldiers. Key considerations: * Geographic limitations and lack of VA eligibility for reservists can restrict access to treatment. * Communication barriers prevent private providers from sharing information with the military command. * Stigma surrounding mental health treatment may deter reservists from seeking help. Recommendations: * Expand mental health services for reservists to ensure accessibility. * Address privacy concerns to facilitate open communication with healthcare providers. * Foster a culture of support within the military to normalize mental health treatment. By prioritizing comprehensive mental healthcare for ALL service members, including reservists, we can prevent similar tragedies and ensure their well-being.

Global Lead of Workplace Violence Prevention, Active Shooter Awareness and Threat Management l Senior Investigator l Consultant l Keynote Speaker | Army Veteran I Norwich University Alumni Association Board of Directors
It’s been 10 years since the Fort Hood, TX Shooting that killed 3 Soldiers and wounded 12 others. The shooter then killed himself when confronted by a military police officer. The investigation went on for months after the shooting, interviewing and obtaining sworn statements from 169 witnesses. The results of the investigation, “We find no indication of his medical and personal records suggesting Specialist Lopez-Lopez was likely to commit a violent act,” Lt. Gen. Joseph Martz. “There were no clear warning signs.” - according to the Army. But there were. -Multiple Deployments as an active duty infantry soldier -Counseled for non-promotion -Became a team leader, but was replaced because a Private First Class was viewed as more qualified -Received a permanent profile -Reclass to 88M (motor transport operator) from Infantry Soldier -Multiple medical appointments; physically and mentally -Grandfather died Oct 2013 -Mother died unexpectedly a month later, November 2013 -Financial Issues -Family issues -High turnover rate of Leadership -Army high operational tempo and manning shortages This is just to name a few- and these are the Grievances in reference to the Pathway to Violence. 10 years later those of us in the community of Workplace Violence Prevention, know that even just a few of those grievances are something very important to take note of. They may be spaced apart by months, but it’s still important to know how to recognize the signs. Recognizing the warning signs and grievances can help save lives. *DM if interested in learning more about this case study. #WorkplaceViolencePrevention #RecognizeTheSigns #PathwayToViolence

Hello, women and men throughout the world. Are we all at fault? The end of apartheid, exclusion, and racist disposition depends on a multitude of factors including societal attitudes, political will, legislative changes, and grassroots activism. It's challenging to predict an exact timeline for when these issues will be fully resolved, as progress can vary significantly depending on the context and region. However, history has shown that significant strides toward ending apartheid, exclusion, and racism have been made through various means such as: Legislative Changes: Governments can enact laws and policies aimed at promoting equality and combating discrimination. For example, South Africa officially abolished apartheid through the dismantling of apartheid laws and the establishment of a democratic system in the early 1990s. Social Movements: Grassroots movements and activism play a crucial role in raising awareness, mobilizing communities, and pressuring governments and institutions to address systemic injustices. Movements like the Civil Rights Movement in the United States and the anti-apartheid movement in South Africa have brought about significant change. Education and Awareness: Education about the history and consequences of racism and discrimination is essential in changing societal attitudes and behaviors. Promoting empathy, understanding, and inclusivity can help break down barriers and foster a more tolerant society. Economic Empowerment: Economic disparities often intersect with racial discrimination. Initiatives aimed at promoting economic opportunities for marginalized communities can help address systemic inequalities. International Pressure: International condemnation and pressure can also influence governments and institutions to address issues of apartheid, exclusion, and racism. Sanctions, diplomatic efforts, and global solidarity movements can amplify the voices of those fighting for equality. My take: Very little progress has been made mainly because this sickness stronger than a virus has impregnated deep in the minds of Homosapiens in many parts of the world. The main factor against the elimination of the breed (apartheid, exclusion, and racism) remains alive. Thus, It requires continued effort, vigilance, and collaboration across sectors to create a more just and inclusive society for all. One last assertion, the term "Homo Sapien" is the scientific name for modern humans, the species to which 'All Contemporary Human Beings Belong'. The term "Homo sapiens" is Latin for "wise man" or "knowing man," reflecting the cognitive abilities and intellectual capacity that distinguish humans from other species. Homo sapiens emerged in Africa around 300,000 years ago and have since spread and diversified across the globe, becoming the dominant species on Earth. #readandlearn #searchandfind #teachhowtofish #livingasone #thelawofsixthdegrees I have posted a link for your acknowledgment. Family and domestic violence (FDV) affects not just personal lives but workplaces too. Employers lose millions annually due to FDV, and it deeply impacts employee well-being and performance. Workplaces can offer vital support and resources for victims. Let's create safe spaces, educate ourselves, and push for strong policies to help those affected by FDV. #WorkplaceSafety #SupportSurvivors #EndDomesticViolence
