Meal kits are subscription services built around a business plan. A standard meal kit works with a subscription per week. Precooked meal ingredients are included in meal kits delivered by meal subscriptions. In October, Kraft Heinz and Taco Bell, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, revealed an extension of their collaboration, paving the way for inventive offerings like the Cravings Kits. Kraft Heinz is already the producer of Taco Bell-branded sauces, taco kits, taco shells, and seasoning mixes available in retail. The consumer packaged goods giant also offers products under brands like Benihana and TGI Fridays. As part of its strategy to achieve $2 billion in incremental net sales by 2027, Kraft Heinz has actively pursued partnerships, including the one with Taco Bell, to contribute to reaching this ambitious goal. One of my favorite things about this side of the foodservice industry is getting a better understanding of how food is grown, made and then sent on to a distribution company to be moved into a kitchen. We don't know what we don't know. Cheese making is one of those things that not all of us invest time in. We go to the store and see it on a shelf or behind the glass, order, consume and enjoy. But did you know what it takes to make cheese? I asked Brian Fiscalini of Fiscalini Farmstead just how much milk it takes to make cheese. 🧀 "Cheese making generally achieves a 10% yield. Meaning that for every 100 pounds of milk you will produce 10 pounds of cheese. So, it would take 600 pounds or 70 gallons to make one wheel of our Old-World Cheddar that weighs roughly 60 pounds." On top of that you have time, resources, packaging, freight and now you have a product ready to go to market. Easy as that! I love what Fiscalini produces, 4 generations of family passion, great cheeses and amazing people.
