Federer’s 15-second rule 🧠 When asked, Federer described his 15-second process between points 1) Feel the emotion (Accept) 2) Relax (Reset) 3) focus on where to serve next (Restart) This process is a simple one… yet one many players ignore… Accept - Reset - Restart…. Accept - Reset - Restart… A continual cycle whether losing or winning. No player is immune from emotions… Nor can any player turn them off… However, great players master the ability to accept and reset. To let go and go again. To restart. Competing in sport is often a rollercoaster. Success is just as much about how we handle the lows as it is about how high we can reach. Accept what has happened… Let go and reset to neutral… Restart a fresh with a plan in mind and a readiness to compete. #resetting #emotionalregulation #sport

🎾Reflecting on Dominic Thiem’s Journey: Ambition, Excellence, and Acceptance Dominic Thiem’s career has been marked by an incredible level of ambition and skill. As one of the few players who could truly compete with the likes of Federer, Nadal, and Djokovic—the Big 3—Thiem delivered stunning victories that put him on the global tennis map. But as he reflects on his journey, Dominic shares a profound insight: “At one point, I realized they were in a different galaxy, and I wouldn’t be able to reach them.” In a sport where ambition drives every match, Thiem had the strength to acknowledge the greatness of his fiercest competitors while continuing to push his own limits. It’s a reminder that even the most talented athletes face moments of acceptance, knowing that success isn’t always about surpassing others, but about finding peace with your own path. 7 Insightful lessons from the GOAT 🐐tennis player. 1. Perfection is Impossible: Federer highlighted that even at the top level, perfection is unattainable. He revealed that he won only 54% of the points in his career. His achievements in tennis are built upon cumulative marginal wins throughout his career. 2. Seek closure in both Setbacks AND Wins: He taught the importance of quickly moving past setbacks AND wins. Don't dwell on your setbacks, and equally important, celebrate wins but don't over-celebrate. In tennis, as in life, each point or failure should be seen as just a part of a larger game. This mindset helps in maintaining focus and intensity in the present and future. 3. Focus on the Present: Federer explained the importance of being fully present in the moment. Each point, each task is crucial when it is being played or performed, but once it’s over, it should be left behind to focus on the next challenge. 4. Resilience and Adaptability: Federer emphasized the significance of resilience, to accept losses, learn from them, and move on. He shared that the best in the world succeed not because they win every point, but because they know how to handle losses and setbacks. 5. Mastering Overcoming Hard Moments: He pointed out that champions are those who master overcoming difficult times. Negative energy is wasted energy, and it's crucial to convert setbacks into motivation to work harder and smarter. 6. Work Harder and Smarter: He stressed the value of hard work and smart work. Success comes from putting in the effort and finding efficient ways to improve and excel in one's endeavors. 7. Dealing with Self-Doubt: Federer acknowledged that self-doubt is natural, even for top performers. He encouraged graduates to remember that everyone faces self-doubt, and overcoming it is a key to success. #RogerFederer #dartmouth #Respect #SundayLessons **************************************************************************** Share your positive lessons in the comment below! 📖

Don’t beat the competition at their game. Beat them at your game. Think of Michael Phelps, the most decorated Olympian of all time. Even he didn’t compete in races like the 100m and 400m freestyle, which weren’t his strengths. When you try to improve your weaknesses, you often ignore your strengths. Your strengths are what makes you unique. When every competitor tries to improve their weaknesses to match the competition, everyone in the market becomes just good enough at everything. But nobody excels at anything. This creates a sea of sameness: every choice ends up being equal to potential customers. Do you play to your strengths, or are you constantly trying to improve your weaknesses?

Well left or opportunity lost? Sometimes in game of cricket if batsmen leaves a ball as its very good delivery, then everyone say ‘well left’ But there is another possibility, hitting that ball so well that it becomes bad delivery. This is what happens in our life, we face a situation when we have a problem which can be avoided. The question is it right thing to do? Workaround is always tempting. It’s a question of short term gain or long term success! Avoiding problem can make you slowly weak, so why not attack? #leadership #communication #shorttermgain #strategy #longtermstrategy #fear #aadressingfear #tennis #federer #Rogerfederer #cricket #gooddelivery #workaround #rogerfederer #rogerfedererretirement #rogerfedererfoundation #rogerfederergraduation #rogerfedererspeech https://lnkd.in/dHXj2bPn #
