🌟 Excited to share insights from our session this week with Ellucian on succeeding in your first 90 days in a new role as part of FourBlock's Northeast/Mid-Atlantic Veteran Career Readiness Program! 🎓🇺🇸 Starting a new role, especially your first one as a civilian, can be daunting. But fear not! As veterans, we've got this. With our experience, adaptability, and resilience, we're well-equipped to excel in any environment. We had an enriching discussion with the Ellucian team and the FourBlock community, focusing on several key themes: 1️⃣ Embrace Your Transferable Skills: Your military background has instilled invaluable skills—leadership, discipline, adaptability—that are assets in any civilian job. Own them! 2️⃣ Cultural Adjustment: Every workplace has its own vibe. Take time to understand and adapt to the new culture while staying true to your principles. 3️⃣ Build Relationships: Networking is key. Invest time in connecting with colleagues and don't hesitate to ask questions. Building relationships and rapport is vital. 4️⃣ Set Clear Goals: Define success in your new role and set measurable goals for your first 90 days. Stay aligned with your manager to track progress effectively. 5️⃣ Seek Feedback: Actively seek input from peers and managers. Use it to grow and improve continuously.
