"A powerful reminder to anyone who thinks design is primarily a visual pursuit, The Senses accompanies a major exhibition at Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum that explores how space, materials, sound, and light affect the mind and body. Learn how contemporary designers, including Petra Blaisse, Bruce Mau, Malin+Goetz, and many others, engage sensory experience. Multisensory design can solve problems and enhance life for everyone, including those with sensory disabilities. Featuring thematic essays on topics ranging from design for the table to tactile graphics, tactile sound, and visualizing the senses, this book is a call to action for multisensory design practice. The Senses: Design Beyond Vision is mandatory reading for students and professionals working in diverse fields, including products, interiors, graphics, interaction, sound, animation, and data visualization, or anyone seeking the widest possible understanding of design." https://lnkd.in/ddnxub7x

If you think the Fest Project hasn't gotten crazy enough with last-minute topic changes and some of 2025's themes (cue in the candy corn and bumper cars), it just went there. Look out this November for "Modular Magic." "Modular Magic" combines escapism and modular structures in one exhibit. I have plenty of surprises in store with this exhibit. Great point here by Paul Orselli on the importance of testing exhibit ideas with visitors rather than just relying on inspirational ideas. Reminds me of the saying that success is 10% inspiration 90% perspiration and failure is 10% perspiration and 90% aspiration. Exhibition project teams I've worked with often assume that generating exhibit ideas is the difficult bit. If only it were. Generating ideas is actually pretty easy. Generating good ideas is quite hard. Turning just one of those good ideas into a good exhibit is a massive undertaking. #exhibits #exhibition #exhibitiondesign #museums

Time-traveling with Midjourney prompts involves invoking specific eras to capture their unique visual styles, aesthetics, and moods. By specifying a time period, you can give your image a distinct historical feel, evoking the clothing, architecture, colors, and technology of the era.
