Over the past years, we have witnessed firsthand how climate change is transforming our planet. As we look towards to the future, collective action is essential to achieving results. At FedEx, we recognize the impact that more sustainable practices within the logistics and transportation industry can have on our planet. With a steadfast commitment to our goal of carbon-neutral operations by 2040, we are working to cut emissions and waste, upgrading our technologies and vehicles, improving our facilities and packaging to lessen our environmental impact. In 2023, we retired older, less-efficient vans in our ground fleet and introduced electric ones in Brazil, Chile, and Mexico. We continue expanding our electric fleet across the region with a mix of vehicles tailored to each market's need, including piloting electric motorcycles and e-bikes in urban facilities in cities like Rio de Janeiro, Mexico City, Bogotá, and Medellín. And, in Rio de Janeiro, one of our ship centers now operates with a 100% electric vehicle fleet. We're also investing in on-site charging infrastructure, recognizing its critical role in the transition to electric vehicles. It's one thing to electrify our fleet and another to ensure we have the infrastructure in place for this fleet to function. But it's not just about us. We also want to inspire our customers to take action. Through tools like FedEx® Sustainability Insights, customers can view their estimated CO2e shipping emissions for international shipments within the FedEx network at both the package and account levels. This transparency empowers businesses of all sizes to make meaningful contributions by giving them visibility into their shipping patterns and environmental impact, allowing us to work together to deliver a more sustainable future.
