You are interested in getting certified to do business with local, state and federal government and major corporations. Once approved, most small, minority and women-owned businesses do not have the tool (s) to effectively market to City, County, State and Federal representatives, Supplier Diversity Directors and prime contractors. The Capability Statement is a marketing tool that serves as a "door opener" in relationship building with decision-makers and serves as the company's "leave behind" after a meeting. Find out what you need to know to position your company for more contracting opportunities. Founder & President of Capitol Integration | Guiding Companies to Dramatic Outcomes in DC | Million Dollar Consultant® | Consultant of the Year | NILE Top Lobbyist | Bloomberg Government Top Performer
As identified by Bloomberg Government, the best-performing federal contractors all lobby Congress. The tools of congressional influence are available to every company, yet the overwhelming majority of federal contractors eschew the opportunity to lobby Congress. Sadly, it’s not just that companies often don’t know how. It’s worse; they don’t know why lobbying Congress can be helpful. Defense represents the most significant portion of the federal budget annually reviewed and approved by Congress. As such, it’s a valuable case study to understand what may contribute to a concentration of winners that garner federal contracts. Any company can learn by understanding more about lobbying in the defense industry. Order your copy at Amazon. #defenseindustry #defensecontracting #lobbying #govcon

As of September 2024, there's a high likelihood of a major port strike on the US East and Gulf Coasts. The International Longshoremen's Association (ILA), representing approximately 85,000 dockworkers, has threatened a strike starting October 1st if a new labor contract isn't reached by that date. Key Points: Disruption: A strike would significantly impact the flow of goods, potentially leading to supply chain disruptions, higher consumer prices, and economic consequences. Impact: Ports affected include major hubs like New York, Boston, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Norfolk, Charleston, and Savannah. Negotiations: The union and the United States Maritime Alliance (USMX) have been negotiating for months, but have yet to reach an agreement. Concerns: The industry is concerned about the potential economic fallout, especially as the holiday season approaches. The UK's 'Grand Strategy' Delusion. In the event of a Labour Party victory in the forthcoming UK General Election a Strategic Defence Review will take place in 2025. Expect calls for a 'grand strategic debate' to analyse and explain the UK's rightful place in the world. But a new 'grand strategic' narrative will reveal nothing new and will serve merely to distract from the important task of acting grand strategically rather than merely talking about it. Regional Sales Manager - North America | Clean Energy Specialist | Oil Well Cementing, CCS & HPHT Expert
In times of potential shipping delays, like the International Longshoremen's Association (ILA) port worker strikes, small manufacturers can benefit from advanced stockpiling. By identifying key materials or components that could cause production delays, businesses can build up their inventory to ensure smooth operations. However, it's important to balance stockpiling with available storage space, cash flow, and the risk of product obsolescence. Develop Backup Suppliers: Where possible, establish relationships with alternative suppliers, including domestic or regional sources, to mitigate reliance on imports. This can help maintain production continuity without heavy reliance on stockpiling. Companies such as DMI can provide Rental Tools (safety valves, downhole filter subs, & more), Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Engineering Consulting for operations. Despite their lean business model, they provide offerings to operators & service companies in over 32 countries. American based ingenuity represented by individuals such as Josh Jolivette (JJ) can very likely be the solution that keeps the doors open for business. By planning ahead, diversifying suppliers, and staying informed about potential disruptions, small manufacturers can maintain production and keep customers satisfied, even in times of uncertainty. #ILA #LongshoremansAssociation #PortWorkersStrike #AmericanMade #LeanManufacturing #USManufacturing #Mitigation #SupplyandDemand #Production #Strike #CustomerSatisfaction #LocalBusiness #SupportAmericanBusiness #ManufacturingChallenges #BusinessDevelopment #RiskManagement
The International #Longshoremen's Association (ILA) is set to go on #strike at midnight, paralyzing 36 #EastCoast and #GulfCoast seaports. ⚓ Our analysis finds the costs of the strike will compound rapidly the longer it lasts. Even if a new deal is reached within days, #supplychain interruptions could persist for weeks. A one-week strike would cost the US economy $3.78 billion—or $540 million per day—and cause slowdowns through mid-November. Together, the impacted #ports handle 57% of US container volume and a quarter of US international trade—about $3 trillion annually. The timing of the strike is particularly fraught: It threatens to raise prices just as consumers and businesses are finally starting to feel relief from #inflation — and mere weeks ahead of a presidential #election. The #ILA is seeking wage increases of more than 70% and protections against rising automation. Under the #TaftHartley Act, the White House can legally intervene to force #portworkers back on the job but has stated it currently has no plans to. This may change as the election-year calculus—which pits support for #unions against #consumer costs—evolves in the days ahead. 🔗 Read our full analysis of costs, risks, and next steps: https://lnkd.in/eiXDgfJd
