Letters to over 75 Vilas and Oneida county churches are ready to mail. Inside are business cards printed with information on the Family Food Helpline and FORK's Food Security Resource Guide. With these cards, individuals can access information about the free food programs in their hometowns. These cards are a tool for our local clergy to utilize in the counsel of the food insecure members of their congregation. Our religious leaders are the first to stand in support of families challenged by economic hardships. Thank you to all those who dedicate their lives to this work!

This morning, I received an email with the subject line "Skyrocketing Tuna". I immediately imagined it written in Indiana Jones font, advertising the lamest adventure movie ever. Once I stopped giggling, I was able to review a very serious report from our supply chain team. Simply put, a can of tuna fish - a staple of my childhood and Crosslines food pantry - has increased in price 70% this year. Seventy percent. In the last five months, we've seen 49% more families at Crosslines than we did in the same time last year. Last year was up 20% from the year before. Even after streamlining our services and consolidating under one roof (a measure which cut our utilities in HALF) this rapidly increasing demand for services is quickly outpacing our available resources. Inflation is hitting food prices hard. And it's hitting Crosslines too. We are stretched. Thin. Some simple math for you: A flat budget + 49% increase in demand + 70% price increase = Tuna is something we may no longer be able to provide the hundreds of families who visit us each week. What is it worth to you to feed a hungry child? Is it worth the price of a can of tuna? What if it was your child who was hungry? Will you help us, help them? For about the price of a cheeseburger meal, you can provide a family of four groceries for a week. I hope you join me in combatting hunger right here in SW Missouri. Your gift can change lives! ccozarks.org/donate

Powerful testimony today!
Follower of Jesus Christ, 5x NYT Best-Selling Author, 2x National Champion, Heisman Trophy Winner, Founder & Chairman of the Tim Tebow Foundation, The Tebow Group and ESPN Analyst.
Grateful. Humbled. Thank you, Lord for the chance to be a part of your mission to love, serve, and protect these vulnerable boys and girls. Every single one of the 50,000+ unKNOWN boys and girls who are being sexually exploited and abused are worth us giving our very best. Because they need us to not just speak up for them, but they need us to act on their behalf because they deserve Faith, Hope, and Love… and we have the chance to bring hope to those who are starving for it! When you start working with homeless people, beware of what it will do to your heart. Nothing that was important 2 months ago feels important anymore. My wants and needs and desires have changed. We have found that a lot of people have this same heart, and a lot of them do not. We had our video for tent city go viral, currently at 184k views. The comment section is vial. Not every comment, but man. It is pretty bad. When I stumbled across God's Mission Ministry on facebook, I thought, well I have extras this week from the market, we can just donate them there. Now, we make stuff specifically for them. Every Sunday. We don't just show up and feed them, we stay and get to know them. Our video is helping the mission so much that we have had 3 more missions reach out in hopes that we can do the same for them. We need a food trailer! We have no problem going out and inserting ourself amongst them, but we don't want to just take baked goods. We want to help make more possible. Our goal as two recovering addicts in this now, is to get these people the help they need and not just feed them. To get that help, you have to know what help they need. Sometimes, it is just someone to sit next to them and tell they are seen and loved. Put that spark back in their eyes. I don't know why I am posting this here. Maybe in hopes some stranger sees this and thinks, "hey, this girl has gumption. Maybe I can help her out". I honestly don't know. All I know is that when you leave tent city, you never truly leave it again after that first time. These people stick with you in your everyday struggles. The once important things are no longer important. It could be any one of us out there at anytime. Here is the video link for anyone who wants to see the vial things being said about these amazing HUMAN BEINGS. Not every one of them is an addict. Some just have had it harder than the rest of us. https://lnkd.in/g6SCzTfy
We don't really do much. We just show up. Kimmie Massey and the people with God's Mission Ministry are the true heroes. Our job is to show up and help spread awareness. The more help we can get Kimmie and her crew, the better off these amazing people will be. It was a beautiful day spent with amazing people. This is our church. Actually doing what the bible says to do. 🙏❤️ #fyp #tentcity #servant

𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗴𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗲𝗻 - The Switch Witch. I’d like to thank whichever smart person invented the concept of the Switch Witch, who comes to children on Halloween night, replacing their candy with a prize of your choosing. After all, kids don’t need all that candy! But neither do their parents, so what to do with the overflow (once you’ve sorted out the good stuff for yourself, of course!)? 𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗔: Operation Gratitude, which ships the candy to U.S. Troops, is one possibility. Other local options include dropping it off at children’s hospitals, homeless shelters or food pantries, or nursing homes. SPRING CLEANING TIPS FOR YOUR CHURCH The weather is warmer, the days are longer, and the flowers around your church are probably near full bloom. As spring draws near, many churches begin preparing for Easter services and increase the number of programs and people over the next few months. After the cold winter months, it’s a great time for your church operations team or staff to do a little “spring cleaning!” So take some time over the next few weeks to tackle these things around your church. Visit our website at www.smcins.com for a helpful list provided under "Our Latest News". And, to learn more about becoming a policyholder. #gratitude

This is even more relevant today than in the 60s. The 2022 Gilded Giving Report from the Institute for Policy Studies sheds light on the growing economic inequalities that are woven into the fabric of charitable giving in the US. Check it out here: https://lnkd.in/gyvWeq-Y
King’s words acknowledge a central contradiction: philanthropy is a creature of our market system’s unequal benefits, and yet charged with addressing its prejudice and exploitation. They also guide us toward a new gospel of giving, defined by new tenets. - Darren Walker
