Congratulations to our partner Nativity Prep Academy on the opening of their new STEM Center! Nativity Prep Academy is a School Pantry partner of Feeding San Diego, meaning they have a free food distribution onsite for students and their families. The school is all-scholarship, and the students are all low-income and underserved who will be the first generation to graduate from college. Their program is an inspiring 11-year journey that brings deserving students all the way to college. Through a capacity grant fund made possible by Aqualia International Foundation, Nativity Prep was selected by Feeding San Diego to receive a fridge and freezer to increase their capacity to safely store rescued food that they will source from nearby grocery stores. This food rescue is made possible through their partnership with Feeding San Diego. As of right now, the school pantry at Nativity Prep serves 66 households and makes an impact for the students and their families by providing nutritious food at no cost, but there's more to come! #nonprofit #hungerrelief #foodrescue #partnerships

Did you know that The $100 Solution™ also works with high schools? Senior students at Waggener High School in Louisville, Kentucky held a seminar for freshman on the secrets to success in high school using The $100 Solution model. This seminar was through their College NoW program and a dual credit course offered through Western Kentucky University. While the students originally planned to use the $100 on snacks and food, they chose to give these funds to the school’s food pantry which is accessible by students in need of meals for evenings and weekends. The students' secrets to success in high school? The phone is the high school students #1 enemy. From what they found; the average student was spending 6 hours a day on their phone! They recommended the freshmen pick a day or two to “forget their phone" and focus on their school work. The other key to success they spoke on was the importance of proper time management. Disrupt Gives is supporting a great cause! Did you know that nearly 20,000 in SBISD are considered economically disadvantaged? These students have families who make difficult choices on where to use their resources, and pencils, pens, notebooks, and highlighters are not always near the top of the list. As funding shrinks and economic challenges grow, our campuses and our teachers are unable to fill those gaps. That 's where Spring Branch Education Foundation and generous donors can step in to help. Distupt Gives has joined SBEF School Supplies Co-Chairs, Becky Fenn, and Kristi Robishaw, as they continue to equip Spring Branch ISD students with the tools they need to successfully start the school year. $15 can provide school supplies for a student $330 can provide school supplies for an entire classroom of elementary school students $1,650 can provide school supplies for an entire elementary school grade level Please consider making a donation to SBEF's Project School Supplies https://lnkd.in/gRc7YS2t #nonprofitssupportingnonprofits #sbef #sbisd #students #schoolsupplies

This October, the MREF’s Fall Fundraiser will once again support students in Haiti. ➡️ Why Haiti Many Haitian families struggle with the cost of education, including uniforms, textbooks, and transportation. Additionally, 48% of the population is undernourished, and access to clean water remains limited for much of the country. By donating to the Fall Fundraiser, you can help provide children with the resources they need – meals, education, and more – to thrive in and out of the classroom. ➡️ This year, the MREF’s fundraiser will focus on two key areas: 1. Food and water: In a country where only 65% of the population has access to basic water treatment services, access to clean water and food is vital for the health and development of students. 2. Curriculum: New books and curriculum are needed to ensure each student is equipped for success as they advance their studies. ⭐ Your contribution to the MREF’s Fall Fundraiser can directly impact the lives of students in Haiti. Together, we can support these students as they pursue education, grow as leaders, and build a brighter future for Haiti. Can you please help Teachers' Treasures, Inc. by donating to this worthy cause today? Our big fundraiser Dream will be on February 29, 2024. Our big ask is the dessert dash where every table gets a dessert donated by a local bakery but the order the table gets to select their dessert is determined by how much money they raise. Please help the Rising Phoenix Leadership table raise money for Teachers' Treasures, Inc. No Donation is too small. See more about Teachers' Treasures, Inc. below the link. Here is the link: https://lnkd.in/gcdNerVM Every day at public, charter, and parochial schools located throughout Marion County, children of all ages attend class without the most basic supplies they need to get a good education. Dedicated teachers are often willing to pay for these much-needed supplies out of their own pockets to make sure the kids in their classrooms have the necessary tools to learn. On average, teachers spend $800-$1200 a year on school supplies for their students. Our Answer Teachers’ Treasures, in partnership with local businesses, charitable foundations, neighborhood organizations and individual contributors, helps fill this need by operating a volunteer-based “Store for Teachers.” Donated educational supplies and other materials are distributed via this unique conduit to teachers for the benefit of their students. We serve teachers from any school (public, private, charter, or parochial) in Marion County and the immediate surrounding school districts with 60% or more of the student population on the free or reduced lunch programs.

Consider donating to this wonderful non-profit organization that puts on the incredible "Summer YESS" Program! Bethany and I had the privilege of being invited last year to observe the program in action, and we witnessed firsthand the profound impact the kids, volunteers, and staff made on each other. The Summer YESS (Youth Education Summer Socialization) program offers opportunities that no other program can, creating a truly unique experience for everyone involved. Through the collaboration between AbilityPoint, Wichita’s USD 259, The Wichita Department of Park and Recreation, and Sedgwick County, YESS provides education, recreation, and socialization in a community setting. There is no other program like YESS in the nation, offering students, families, and the community a chance to develop friendships, build self-esteem, gain independence, and experience personal growth. Why Summer School? Special Education teachers spend approximately 85% of the fall quarter re-teaching what was lost over the summer. In YESS, students can continue in an educational setting, maintaining what they learned while developing new social skills. The students are challenged through fun educational activities relating to a weekly theme, providing a common goal for all the classes and creating an exciting learning environment. These themes unleash the students’ and teachers’ creativity, and the results are always exhilarating. Let’s support this amazing program and make a difference in the lives of these incredible students. Your donation can help keep the magic of YESS alive, ensuring that more kids can benefit from the exceptional opportunities it offers. Together, we can create a brighter future! Trade donations can be made through the link below. https://lnkd.in/ggSmh4sB #SummerYESSProgram #AbilityPoint #DonateNow #TradebankMember
