As humanitarians and health care providers, it is our responsibility to support, protect, and promote best practices regarding Infants and Young Child Feeding #IYCF ‘DO NO HARM’ particularly during crisis and emergency situations. Stop random unregulated formula donations and the risks associated with it. Some of the issues we talk about can be very heavy, and for those who share their experiences it’s probably the first time they’ve had the courage to talk to someone who understands. The van plays an important role and provides a space without judgement where people can come and have a chat and if they require be referred for support thorough Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity It’s also a safe space for us to talk about anything that may have affected us during the tours and check in on each other. For me personally, talking about my past experiences has helping me to heal from them. Sharing openly gives a voice to those who can’t articulate how they feel but having someone stand in front you talking about something your going through gives you the courage to start the conversation they would normally avoid in fear of judgement.
