Join me and over 1,000 of my closest friends today in observance of National Disability Employment Awareness Month #NDEAM2023! Why do we need to continue to shine a light on #disability employment? According to many studies Neurodiversity in the workplace is growing and their is still much work to be done: ✨85% of neurodivergent college graduates are unemployed or underemployed. ✨Being neurodivergent is more than being on the autism spectrum. This term includes mental health disabilities. ✨Significant racial inequities exist in diagnosis and treatment of neurodivergent children. ✨In a study of over 260,000 children younger than 8 years of age, up to one-fourth of children were undiagnosed, with most of these children being Black or Latinx. ✨According to recent research by the Child Mind Institute “The model that we have for a classic autism diagnosis has really turned out to be a male model." The ratio of boys to girls diagnosis is 4 to 1. #DisabilityIsDiversity #KnowBetterDoBetter
