Attention all hiring managers! If you're struggling to manage the influx of job applications, be mindful of how you phrase your job postings. Writing statements like "We encourage you to apply even if you don't meet every single requirement for the position" can be misleading if you're not planning on considering all applicants. Instead, consider rephrasing your job posting to accurately reflect your hiring process and avoid any potential confusion. Remember, transparency is key in the hiring process! #hiringtips #talentacquisition #jobpostings

Over the last year, we've seen an increase in ghosting by job applicants, but what's more alarming is the *significant* increase in ghosting by hiring managers. After weeks of looking for a #newjob and waiting to hear back, there is nothing more disheartening to a job candidate than silence and no explanation about what happened to that role. Here’s a closer look at why these managers “frequently” or “always” ghost applicants: 🌟 Still deciding on the right candidate (34%) 😓 Overwhelmed by the high volume of candidates (33%) 💔 The candidate doesn’t fit the role or company culture (32%) 💰 The candidate’s salary expectations exceed the budget (31%) 🤝 The company has already filled the position (31%) 👯 Other candidates more likely to meet recruitment goals (31%) 🛑 No longer hiring for the role (29%) At Friday, we never ghost candidates. We make every effort to help them through the job process, from complimentary resume building to interviews, first-day readiness, and check-ins. https://lnkd.in/g7aGdbPx

Thinking about moving up a level to a mid-level job? Applications and resumes are sent to the hiring manager through the Human Resources Department. They send your application and resume through the Applicant Tracking System. If all it checks out and you meet the minimum qualifications, then its sent to the hiring manager. The hiring manager skims the resume. I've been through the hiring process for my past staff members. Seriously, there is a 2-second skimming process before the hiring manager decides if you have the background, the skills, and work history desirable before actually reading your resume. If you do, then the review will be more detailed and comprehensive. The same process also goes for your application. So use your words wisely.
