Today is the last day of November and the last #nationalfamilycaregiversmonth. There are numerous things I wish for family caregiver. Here are a few of them: 🔅More support in workplaces and educational space for caregivers 🔅More programs and research for people caring for someone with non demetia related illnesses. Many studies focus on dementia care but there are lots of people caring for loved ones with other illnesses not to mention people caring those with a rare disease. 🔅More support from the healthcare system to include caregivers in treatment planning. Though they can provide critical information and are often the primary person providing care for the patient, caregivers are not always consulted or included. 🔅More targeted information for those caring for someone who is not elderly. Those of are a few of my wish list items. If you are a caregiver or know one what are some of your wish list items? Drop them in the comments. #nfcmonth #caregiving #caregiversupport #caregivers
