Wildfire season is upon us, and it's expected to be even more destructive than last year. Minimal exposure to wildfire smoke can be dangerous even to healthy individuals, and staying indoors without proper air filtration can be just as harmful as breathing outdoor pollution. Here is another disastrous annual wildfire event, again and again. This one from Greece. This is a yearly thing, not real news anymore! You could ask: Isn't this the same wildfire video as last year? And be puzzled: Why are they not changing approach to fix the problem? Did they learned from past failures in dealing with wildfires? Why call them wildfires, when they were the result of stupidity and stubborn resistance of those in charge to learn and seek new ways of dealing with wildfires? Unfortunately, with preponderance of stupid people in governments throughout the world over the last 50 years or so, we are dealing with Climate Change and its consequences for wildfires: High temps, dry climate, drought, heavy dry vegetation, dead and down dry wood fuels in the mix, and add in the high wind, you get these indefensible fires. As always, the same explanations form authorities for their fallings: limited firefighting resources (why? No answer!), rugged terrain, hot and dry weather, gale force winds, and impossible situation!! Authorities, put forward an image of indefensible and impossible wildfire situation – a blow torch from hell - to whitewash their failures. And just like yearly wildfires, these excuses are repeated on annual basis. This environmental tragedy, with serious global GH emission impact, is plying out all over the world, US-California, Canada, Australia, Turkey, Greece, Spain, Italy, Portugal, etc. This is all due to authorities failure to understand wildfire problems (besides occasional empty promises) having significant negative human and environmental impacts. And start serious investment in creation of National Fire Brigades, and acquiring innovative fire suppressant technologies (time to look for other technologies out there), to deal with wildfire problems effectively and methodically. It’s almost as if, there is an issue of systemic PROBLEM with global governance, no matter where. With the global weather patterns changing, we are at the mercy of these inept and incompetent people in charge of taking care of our wellbeing! NOT a good situation!!! It is a tragedy nonetheless. My heart goes out to the people who have been affected. However, humans can evacuate and escape the flames, but most animals can’t. I really feel sorry for wildlife, and I pray for the animals.

Clean air, clear mind! As the Canadian wildfire season continues on, it's important to be aware of local air conditions at all times. Use the following tools to determine whether smoke is impacting your area: - Air Quality Health Index (AQHI) - InfoSmog (Quebec) - Special air quality statements or air quality advisories You can find these on government websites and weather websites/apps. #WildfireSeason #AirQuality #Wildfires
