Investing in our youth means building a generation that is stronger, more aware, and more prepared to tackle the challenges we are facing today. Our Youth Preparedness Council has spent the last two days in Chicago to share their perspectives with FEMA staff and leadership, network with their peers, and highlight the work they're doing to make their friends, schoolmates, neighbors, and loved ones more prepared. From hosting supply drives to educating children on what to do in severe weather, our YPC members are young powerhouses who are truly making a difference in their communities. The teens also had a chance to chat with our partners from other federal agencies to learn more about the work they do and receive tips on how to create a career path that leads to employment with the federal government. We're thankful for the opportunity to invest in their journeys and help shape their futures. Thank you to Mike Chesney, Vincent Parisi, Amy Pifine, Alexandria Stocki, Catherine Boganey, MSM, and all the others who continue to offer mentorship, support and guidance.

  • This is a picture of the back of someone's head. The photo angle is over the person's shoulder. It captures a picture and bio of a speaker, which is written on a white piece of paper. There is a blue folder under the paper. The person's hand is next to the folder. There is an ink pen in the person's hand and a notebook under the hand.
