It is beyond human capabilities to control nature. However, we can control who we appoint to crucial positions in the government and how we collaborate with our partners to prepare for any emergency. By bridging the gap between localities, creating a collaborative planning process, and preparing for disasters, we can significantly mitigate the damage and loss of life. In 2023, it is imperative that we hire an experienced Emergency Management professional, who has practical experience, instead of political appointments. It is equally important to pay these Emergency Managers the wages they deserve. In my opinion, if we continue to pay online influencers or political appointees more than Emergency Managers, we will end up with inexperienced people who do not have the motivation to put in the extra work and long hours required to truly prepare a locality for disasters, such as the fires in Maui. https://lnkd.in/da9auF2b

The candidate should also have the ability to effectively collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to collect feedback, update or create tools, templates, and policy. ✅ Serves as an analyst who provides program evaluation results to senior leadership that are utilized in the resource management process for greater program effectiveness. ✅ Analyzes resource requirements to adequately support the desired level of operations for assigned programs and to meet all established technical and program objectives. ✅ Provides advice and recommendations regarding program planning; applies policy and program directives that generally cover precedence and accepted practices. ✅ Translates programmatic requirements into specific project plans.
