In 2023, FEMA asked artists living in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming to submit their work that focuses on climate resilience and highlights the challenges of adapting to a changing climate. After reviewing the many entries and selecting the winners, we’re showcasing some of that work throughout the summer in Colorado, North Dakota and Utah! Three artists will be featured in an upcoming exhibition investigating and sharing the stories of resilience in a changing climate. From sublime foreshadowing to documentation of the real ways natural hazards affect our lives, Documentary Photographer Tamara Susa, Painter and Sculptor Bill Nelson, and Independent Filmmaker Emilie Upczak shine a light on their stories of loss and resilience.
