This reminds me of a sweet moment when my son, about 3 at the time, proudly announced to his friends at library’s story time, real loud and silencing the rather noisy group: “GUYS! My grandma is here!” And kept repeating it slightly louder until everyone acknowledged my moms presence. They’re still there for each other over a decade later ❤️

The Female Quotient - I was a panelist at a Women in Tech function at Samsung Electronics America and told my mother about it. She showed up with a big bouquet of flowers. She said she never understood my job but thought flowers would always be appreciated. Miss my advocate 😔

1moI played competitive chess ♟️ when I was younger and qualifed for the national elementary chess championships when I was in the 5th grade. Rows and rows of chess boards filled up the basketball arena in Knoxville, Tennessee. My Grandma, never played herself nor do I think she ever really understood the rules, watched every single game from the stands. One lasting over 4 hours. Longest game played that day. She didn’t flinch. She was my ultimate champion. I miss her so much. 🥺
