Check out this incredible perspective from a physician on the necessary evolution of women's health systems. I could not agree more with this quote - "Women’s health, as it has existed for the past 200 years, is dead." It's time for a change. Dismissing women’s suffering and pain because "that’s how we’ve always done it" is no longer acceptable. Let's unite, startups and physicians alike, to empower women's health and create a better future for all. #WomenInHealth #HealthTech #Empowerment

Founder, CEO at Evelyn Health - currently raising pre-seed investment | Prev. Founder at Fresh Fitness Food
The more time I spend working in women's health, the more I feel: 1. Confused 🤔 2. Frustrated 😡 3. Worried 😟 For context, I'm building Evelyn Health and our goal is to build the first truly effective solution for PMS and PMDD. These conditions affect approximately 80% of women of reproductive age, which is about 1.4bn people. Or the population of China. Give or take a few. So, why am I confused, frustrated and worried? 🤔 Confused: one of the many things that confuses me is that so many women are unaware of the extent to which their hormones are negatively impacting their lives AND that they have every right to do something about it. As with so many areas of women's health, more awareness 🗣 is desperately needed. 😡 Frustrated: how the hell are humans achieving so much in so many areas whilst seemingly investing so little in and, whether consciously or not, caring so little about 50% of humanity? As with so many areas of women's health, more investment 💰 (funding, research, innovation) is desperately needed. 😟 Worried: something I realised recently when picking up my daughter at the end of the day; she is not growing up in the same world as the boys in her nursery. When it comes to healthcare, she will struggle with access and her body will be less understood. She will be misdiagnosed and overmedicated. Treatments will be less effective, her pain will be dismissed and she will be ignored. DISMISSED and IGNORED. This really hits me hard. As a father to a daughter, and trying to be as polite as possible, f*ck that. As with so many areas of women's health, more education 📚 and understanding (amongst men as well as women) is desperately needed. These changes - awareness 🗣, investment 💰 and education📚 - will help to radically transform the health and happiness of billions of women. I'm convinced that, in turn, this will help to revolutionise, optimise and elevate humanity as a whole. Including me because I'll be able to plod through life feeling a little less confused, frustrated and worried. #femtech #womenshealth #femalehealth #PMDD #PMS #genderhealthgap #healthtech #medtech #digitalhealth #hormonehealth #healthcare #innovation #health Angela Hobbs Harrie Folland Aisling Moran Erin Cassaly Elisabeth von Westerholt Dr. Colleen Fogarty Draper PhD, RD Ed Little Eliot Brooks Jake Higgins Annie Coleridge Sam Houghton Marija Butkovic Anita Mitra

So first I'll speak regarding second part of this topic. When we develop policies especially in health care sector it is essential that it should be without any disparities, there're many places globally where women's still struggling to get enough health care facilities, therefore it is necessary that when we develop the strategies or making policies a local an expert women's health care provider should be included. Few of strategies could be, 1. Improving information & education by enhance the health literacy among women. 2. Increases the awareness and understanding of women's health conditions among health care provider. 3. Focuses on women health conditions which are common in the community like anemia, pregnancy related complications. 4. Encourage the women's to take leadership positions in different health care platforms & agencies. Regarding first part of the topic. 1. Establish or develop practical tools for the health care providers that facilitate the application of gender oriented clinical intervention.2. Ensure safe and decent working environment for the females workers. 3. Eliminate the sexual harassment and violence with in the health care facility. 4. Women's leadership is one of the key factor as well. All these strategies policies need collaborated approach & by implementing these, we can not only provide a better working environment but also we could reduce the gender disparities as well.

Let’s empower women by investing in women’s health! For too long, women's health has been overlooked in medical research, resulting in critical knowledge gaps and minimal funding, receiving less than 1% of US venture capital in the US. But change is underway to bridge healthcare gaps with initiatives like Biotechnology Innovation Organization’s Women’s Health Task Force, which is focused on boosting innovation in women’s health by pushing for increased investment in biomedical research. At 3Daughters, we're dedicated to advancing women's health through innovation by addressing a long-neglected women’s health issue: IUD insertion pain. By focusing focusing on innovation in contraception, we're not just providing birth control — we're empowering women to take control of their reproductive health and well-being. We wanted to create a tool for women to centralize their health data and gain insights throughout all stages of their lives. Most women's health tools focus primarily on fertility, which, while important, only accounts for 2-4 years of a woman's life—about 5% of an average 75-year lifespan. We built Ourself to help women to also track the other 95% of their lives, providing a tool that grows with them over time. As women gather health information through each life stage, their data becomes increasingly rich and powerful. Our bodies are complex, and you deserve a tool that reflects that that is as multifaceted as you are. #womenshealth #empowerment #datafirst
