CBD FAQ: Can I overdose on CBD oil or take too much? A: The short answer is no, you cannot overdose on CBD and you are not likely to get sick. A 2017 W.H.O. Report concluded that CBD is “generally well-tolerated with a good safety profile”. The report also states that “in humans, CBD exhibits no effects indicative of any abuse or dependence potential.” However, according to another study published in 2017 some people may experience side effects, including fatigue, diarrhea, changes in appetite, and changes in weight. Because of this, we recommend starting with a lower dose and building up as you know how your body reacts to CBD. Always consult your doctor to make sure CBD is safe for you. CBD can interact with some prescription medications and should never be used/taken if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.

📈 CamAPS FX, an Android app, received approval as an interoperable automated glycemic controller device. It helps to manage glucose levels in people with type 1 diabetes, aged two and older, including during pregnancy. 👏 CamDiab founder Roman Hovorka commented: “[The app] has been extensively tested and we’re proud that it is considered by many to be the best algorithm out there. Randomized clinical trials have shown a significant increase in time in range and a reduction in HbA1c without increasing the risk of low glucose levels, and improved wellbeing.” 👉Learn more: https://lnkd.in/dSgdANXs 📰 Follow Guided Solutions to receive the latest #MedTech news daily and subscribe to our weekly newsletter: https://lnkd.in/d9DCziXv #MedicalDevices #MedicalDevice #MedicalEquipment #Medicine #HealthTech #Surgeons #GuidedSolutions

Rescue Antenatal Corticosteroids🫁 Betamethasone or dexamethasone are routinely administered to the pregnant patient when preterm delivery may be imminent to help decrease risk for baby of respiratory distress syndrome, intracranial hemorrhage, necrotizing enterocolitis, and death. So that’s wonderful! When do we give them?? Threatened preterm delivery when present between 24+0W - 33+6 W ✨ reaffirmed from ACOG and SMFM✨ If resuscitation is desired for baby with gestational age > 22+0/7 - 23+0/7 steroid administration ay be considered. (Lowered GA reaffirmed) If delivering <34w+0d but it has be >14 days since last steroid course ONE repeat course of steroids should be considered. If delivering > 37w no steroids are recommended per ACOG/ SMFM Pharmacist thoughts and interventions💡 1. Is a patient eligible for second dose of steroids based on GA? 2. Is a patient eligible based on disease states? 3. What blood glucose changes can be expected? 4. Recommendations for adapted insulin regimens in antepartum steroid window (CR, ISF, Basal, Bolus…) 5. Will the steroid window be in effect post-partum? If so, what monitoring parameters does the patient need and how should insulin needs be addressed? 6. Does the patient have their own insulin pump and is that still recommended during the steroid window? Certified Sex & Relationship Coach|Board-Certified Sexologist|Maven Clinic Women’s Sex Coach|Caitlin V Sex Coach|Feel Sexy Again"Author|Helping midlife+ clients embrace & express sexuality w/confidence, joy & pleasure.
As a sex coach provider for Maven Clinic, I see men and women in various stages of life transitions, many of whom are in midlife and beyond. I help them work on the mental, emotional, energetic and even the spiritual side of sex from a holistic perspective. With the men I coach, we discuss concerns around ED, PE, EE, mismatched libidos, etc. Once physical and medical concerns are addressed, ruled out and/or managed, we begin the work to dispel myths, reframe limiting beliefs and uncover mental and emotional blocks, so that they can become more empowered and take responsibility to work on what’s truly important. Doing this requires work, often a lot work! And, most of us don’t want to work that hard, so “popping a pill” sounds like the easiest solution to achieve the desired outcome. Medications help us to be healthy, to be healthier and to continue to live as optimally as possible. They provide a crucial role. I also believe we need sound education to make the best informed decisions for ourselves. Sexual health and wellness is important to our overall health and wellness. And, if we become more aligned with our values and our actions - in any stage in life - we can become the best version of ourselves.
"Most men don’t need a pill—they need primary care." —Dr. Neel Shah, Chief Medical Officer, Maven Clinic The last decade has seen a surge in popularity of over-the-counter testosterone boosters for men, driven by predatory marketing, unregulated pills, and the myth of "male menopause." While testosterone naturally declines with age, few men have genuinely low levels. Even for those with a prescription supplement, recent studies estimate that 1 in 4 men who receive testosterone therapy weren’t tested before seeking supplements. Why are so many men seeking treatment for a condition they're unlikely to have? In this week's issue of The Preprint, our Chief Medical Officer Neel Shah digs into the murky landscape of testosterone pills, and ponders how we can support men without equating their reproductive care with the kind we provide to women.
