In the US the DEA is threatening to limit the ability to prescribe controlled substances through telehealth appointments. This will have a negative impact for women and girls in rural areas, those without reliable transport to in-person visits, those working hourly wage jobs who cannot afford take off 2+ hours for appointments, and those who are actively caregiving for babies and elderly parents and needing help to care for themselves. This will have a negative impact on women who rely on telehealth to manage ADHD symptoms, mental health, perimenopause, insomnia and other conditions. We need your help reaching our goal of 2,500 signatures! In case you missed it …. a proposal from the DEA threatens to severely limit the ability to prescribe controlled substances through telehealth appointments. If this proposal goes through, countless women will lose access to essential medications for menopause, anxiety, sleep disorders, and addiction treatment. At Midi Health we know that telehealth has been a game-changer for women, especially in rural areas where healthcare options are limited. Women rely on medications like Ativan and Lunesta for anxiety and sleep relief, Gabapentin for managing hot flashes and sleep issues—particularly for breast cancer survivors who can’t take hormonal treatments—and Suboxone for women battling opioid dependence. This proposal puts that access in jeopardy. Join us in standing up for women’s health—sign our petition, spread the word, and demand that the DEA extend prescribing flexibilities.
