🚢🌊 Breakbulk keeps us on our toes: what do you do when the standard equipment does not fit? That is what our team was met with when shipping a rail tamping machine (RTM) recently. We had to innovate in the field 💡🌟 The order consisted of 2 pieces. The first weighed 78,5 tons and was loaded on one 62 feet rolltrailer. The second piece, however, was more challenging. With a length of 24,78 meters and a weight of 104,5 tons, none of the standard equipment would do.    “Together with deugro/Plasser & Theurer Export von Bahnbaumaschinen G.m.b.H. and our technical engineer Luca Schmid we invented a new concept to load/offload the unit with an SPMT to get it shipped on railed Blocks & Beams. This was the first time we used railed Blocks & Beams concept,” says Andreas Raths, sales support officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. The shipment made it safely from Bremerhaven to Port Kemba.
